Hi all, What is the simplest way to pull Timesheets reporting out of Project Online (PWA)? My organisation is using the Timesheets functionality in Project Online to record the time resources spend against projects to enable project profitability reporting. I want to be able to build a set of reports in Excel that can be automatically refreshed and combined with other data sets. My level of Excel knowledge is pretty good, and I can see an oData connection to PWA, but the mass of tables that exist in PWA are pretty daunting. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks, AndySolved22KViews0likes7CommentsMs Project integration with Teams?
Microsoft tells it possible to integrate Ms Project with Teams. But I can´t find any option in my Teams to add it. Is this feature available yet? How to add it? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2019/10/29/new-microsoft-project-rolls-out-worldwide/ Thanks!Solved18KViews0likes3CommentsProject for the web - Roadmap from Microsoft?
Hi Is there somewhere a development roadmap of features coming to project for the web? Particular dependencies are so limited, I find shameful the price MS is charging for an annual license considering how primitive it is. Lags seem to only to work by dragging it on the timeline, but they get deleted when things move around overall. You cannot edit them in the grid, like in the project version for desktop and is missed any basic features around lags ( as in task +- time, start to start, or finish to start etc. ) . Options for manual and automatic scheduling of tasks ...? e.g. I can move task 2 ahead of task 1 on the timeline to create a lag/gap of 2 weeks. But if I move task 1 around task 2 does not follow task1 with a constant 2 week lag. The lag disappears if I move task 1 forward in time, or the lag extends if I move task 1 backwards in time. It seem to me that once you create a lag on the time line, then the task behalves like manual scheduled, but can start no sooner than the predecessor. This implementation of lags is very useless in practice. That means larger schedules with lag cannot be readjusted ones schedules as lags all get messed up when things move around. I hope this sees some updates soon!! Are there any known plans to make the lags usable in project online?17KViews2likes5CommentsUsers are not able to open Projects from O365 in Chrome to MS Project on the desktop
So we are running into an issue that appears may be attributed to a Chrome update. I am looking to gather feedback from others to see if you are experiencing the same issues as us. When a user logs into O365 and they navigate to Project Online, they locate the project they want to view and then they try to open it using the MS Project Pro software installed on their system. The normal result is the project opens without issue. What is happening now is MS Project opens but the Project itself fails to open. The current workaround is to use IE. Have you experienced this?Solved15KViews0likes26CommentsProject Online and Azure DevOps Integration
Any ideas on the plan for Project Online and Azure DevOps integration? The process for TFS to Project Server on prem is no longer supported. Predefined field maps only available connectivity, so not really a solution we can use. How are others replacing the TFSFieldMapping? Thanks!15KViews2likes3Comments"We Couldn't Open Your Project"
We have a new licensed user who cannot access a project in the "new" Project. We can add her in as a group member just fine. However, when we attempt to assign a task, we get a pink bar that says, "Couldn't assign resource. Please try again. Correlation ID: 9ff6991b-3508-4488-b271-b54a4ba11ef2." Also, when she attempts signing onto the project via the URL she gets a message stating, "We couldn't open your project" and a Correlation ID of "6489d1c3-aeaa-4346-ad94-ac42ec3e2f2" Any idea what this issue is or how to resolve it?15KViews1like38CommentsPWA missing from our SharePoint Online tenant
We have 26 "Project for Office 365" licenses which I believe are now called Project Online Professional. We are supposed to have a PWA option within SharePoint online to setup and direct our Projects to be stored in the cloud plus setting up shared enterprise fields like resources etc. I am the SharePoint Admin yet I don't see this PWA anywhere on our tenants. If I click on New > I only have Private Site Collection and nothing about PWA. I also cannot configure an existing site collection to use it as it's just not there. We own this software and subscribe to it, so how do we simply setup a "SharePoint Server" online to host all of our project data?13KViews1like11CommentsExport a project as .mpp from Project Online
Hi, I have a project created in Project Online and need to share the .mpp project file with a client. However, although there are options to export as Excel or PDF, I am unable to export to .mpp. Is exporting from Project Online to .mpp even possible? I have been referring to this article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/projectonline/connect-to-project-online-with-the-project-online-desktop-client which looked promising. I am on a Mac but I have a colleague with a Windows laptop and he has Project Professional desktop client. Has anyone tried this approach? But I am unable to figure out the Project Server URL referred to in the article. I have tried the URL of my Project Online project but this doesn't work. Any help here will be really appreciated.11KViews0likes6CommentsHow to integrate Ms Project Online Desktop Client with Ms Teams Project App and Todo Planner?
Hello All, I am looking for a way to integrate my desktop Project client with Teams. Couple of questions that arised: I am working in desktop client. Can I save and have an immediate integration of the project in Teams? Example: A Team of my choice can access my file in the form that Teams allows, with buckets and timelines and charts and everything? I am working in Teams tasks kanban board. Can I save and export the board into desktop client? Let's say a project had been run in a kanban board so far and I have assigned People, tasks, due dates, labels etc. I don't want to manually copy every single information but would like to just somehow export the whole data into desktop format. Is that possible? Hi All, I have seen a few Power Bi Risk Matrix visualizations using Project Online/Project for the Web data that were set up using serval cards on the page. There are a few issues with this approach including the difficulty in aligning the cards and the excessive number of visuals may performance issues. As a result, I have set up a guide that will walk you through setting up an efficient Power Bi matrix using only one visual. Link below: Power Bi Risk Matrix | LinkedIn9.7KViews0likes1Comment
