PowerPivot
3 TopicsMove SharePoint 2013 PowerPivot to new SQL Server
I can't find clear documentation on this so looking for any clarification or confirmation. Have SharePoint 2013 on prem using PowerPivot and wants to move the instance to another SQL server. My understanding would be setup the SQL instance and PowerPivot install, stop the PowerPivot service instance in SharePoint, backup/restore the databases, run the PowerPivot config wizard to point to the new SQL instance, start the service instance. Is that right? Do the datasources in the Excel workbooks need to be updated too? Or what's the proper method? Thanks!1.5KViews0likes1CommentSharePoint 2016 On Premises PowerPivot support for High Availability (HA)
Can a SharePoint 2016 PowerPivot Service Application be installed on 2 application servers so that it can be "highly available"? I have a requirement to support PowerPivot availability during SharePoint patching, so that the PowerPivot service is available when one of our two application servers is being patched. I am unable to find any TechNet resources that provide this info.1.1KViews0likes1CommentScheduled Powerpivot data refresh not working when moved to new SQl Server
We have SP 2013. We changed our SQL server which caused the scheduled data refreshes to fail. Since we were using an alias, we changed it to the new SQL server. How can I add a new data source for all the documents scheduled for Powerpivot refresh?741Views0likes0Comments
