One of my customers ran into an interesting issue recently that I have been able to replicate. I'm curious if others are also experiencing this, and if there's a way to make it work properly. Here's the scenario: A PowerPoint slideshow is shared in a Teams meeting using the "Present in Teams" button from PowerPoint. The slideshow contains an embedded *.webm video that was recorded with Stream (on SharePoint). Participants in the meeting are able to see and hear the video correctly during the meeting. In the Teams meeting recording, the audio and video from the *.webm video does not work... it appears blank on the slide as if no video was played. In some testing with the customer prior to the meeting, the video file playback quality was best when using the "Present in Teams" button instead of a screen share in Teams with computer audio. I had assumed this built-in sharing method would be our best route. We did not realize the meeting would be recorded and did not test that specifically. After the issue occurred, I recorded a new video and created a new PowerPoint slideshow to test this in 3 scenarios... First by sharing the PowerPoint app from the Teams meeting. The Teams meeting recording contained the audio and video properly from the embedded *.webm file that was played. Second, from the Teams meeting, sharing the entire screen including computer audio, the embedded *.webm video again played properly in the meeting recording. Third, when using the "Present in Teams" button from PowerPoint, the *.webm video played correctly during the meeting, but the Teams meeting recording did not contain audio or video from the embedded *.webm video, just like what my customer experienced. I can't tell if this is a known limitation, an issue with Teams meeting recording functionality, or an issue with PowerPoint. If anyone has some insight to share, it would be greatly appreciated! Stream video playback in Teams chats and channels is now inline, meaning that the video plays direct without any need to call the Stream browser client. It’s a good update that makes watching Stream videos a very seamless experience. It would be nice if Microsoft can improve some other integration points where Stream and Teams touch because some of the other integration features don't work so well. In other news, SharePoint Online is rationalizing how it stores user photos. https://office365itpros.com/2023/07/28/stream-video-playback-teams/870Views1like0CommentsTeams no longer automatically uploading to Stream
I have an E3 license, and up until a couple of months ago - whenever I would record a meeting in Teams it would automatically upload to Stream. It doesn't show an error, it just doesn't do it. The meeting recording appears in Teams once finished, in the meeting group chat. However, for me to get it into Stream, I have to download the file to my PC, upload it to Stream, and share with my company. Does anyone know why it has just stopped working? I've searched here, and every where, and can't seem to find a reason.3.4KViews1like3CommentsStreams recording a lesson - using multiple apps
It appears that when pre-recording a lesson in stream you must stick with the app selected in the pre-record (unless using whole desktop). Is there no way to pause recording and switch, for example, from a PPT to a web browser or word doc without going via desktop. I would like to minimise the possibility of recording something on my computer not meant to be recorded.Solved1.3KViews1like2CommentsMeeting 3x3 layout only records 2x2 layout
Hi, With the recent update to 3x3 meeting layouts we are experiencing the issue that the recording of said meeting only shows the 2x2 layout and doesnt account the most active, current talking, user in this 2x2 version. The most active, current talking user, is always visible in the 3x3 version in the active meeting, so no issues there, accept that the recording doesnt capture it. (We can use the 'pin' option when a person is talking so make sure he is captured in the recording ofcourse, but we prefer to see more participants in the company meeting recording) Is anyone else having experiencing similar issues? Is this a bug or do we have to wait for a feature update. Thank you in advance for the responses!2.7KViews1like3CommentsMore Stream features requested for Teams
Teams allows the linking of the Stream channel to a Teams tab which is great. Love the Stream features of audio transcript searching, timestamp tagging, etc. in the native app. I see value in searching this video content and metadata within the Teams application and would appreciate the ability to do so in the top Teams tool bar. Examples: search within the Teams tool bar for text buried in a Stream video. withing the Teams tab expand to show all timestamp video links in StreamSolved1.1KViews1like1CommentWhy can't I share Stream videos to the public?
I've spent ages making Stream videos, great with auto captions with a little tweaking, then only to discover that my nice videos won't play unless our students login? This is a real barrier to the service, can this be corrected please? We really need to have the ability to share externally please.1.4KViews1like6Comments
