SharePoint 2019 on-premises custom theme using a PowerShell script
I am on SharePoint 2019 on-premises with May 2023 CU. I see Gear, Change the Look. Current theme. I want to set COMPANYTHEMEHERE as the theme. I have done so in SharePoint Online however I have to use PNP and I do NOT have that on-premises. I am only changing the color of our site from SharePoint teal to our company branded color. I had the "Halo" theme previously installed from Edge Add-Ons and wanted to mess around with some more. I installed a [hideous] "High Contrast" theme from the Chrome Web Store, and the "Halo" theme disappeared from the appearance menu. Installing "Just Black" from Chrome then removed that "High Contrast" theme too. Is it really only possible to have one externally installed theme, whether from the Edge Add-Ons page or the Chrome Web Store? Granted, I have not used Chrome itself in ages, so I don't know if that's just a Chromium limitation, or if Edge itself only supports a single custom/paintbrush icon theme. I only switched back to Edge "Stable" because Edge Dev 93.0.910.5 is completely broken for me on YouTube and several other sites. Anyways, as far as I can remember [and as a comparison], Firefox will actually allow me to "install" multiple themes and not just apply them on the fly. I still have all of my older pre-Proton themes still showing up in my install of Firefox Nightly, albeit with limited functionality due to said Proton re-design. TL;DR Installing a new extension doesn't automatically uninstall the rest of them, themes should behave the same way lol.
Add the ability to inherit themes from a Parent Channel for a Private Channel
In Teams, I would like to see the ability to change, alter or inherit themes in a Private channel SharePoint site just like in a Parent channel SharePoint site. I believe a private channel should have the ability to inherit the theme and colors from the Parent, just like the association allows a Team to inherit the theme from a Hub association. Thoughts? The latest Edge Canary Version 89.0.707.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) hints at it. The Microsoft Edge Add-ons store link points to here: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/microsoft-edge-themes at the moment there is no themes there (except for this one), nor any "themes" category in the site's user interface, but the website's URL is there so we should be expecting the rest soon
SharePoint themes - There was an error while attempting to get the themes
Hi all, I've an issue when I want to apply another theme. When I choose --> gear icon --> change look, I see this: This error appears when I add a new theme or overwrite an excising one. It's the second time I see this error on two different tenants. Someone familiar with this issue?
Add Custom Colors in Color Palette of CEWP in SharePoint Online
Hi, We have a requirement to incorporate custom colors used by the client in color palette (shown on edit of CEWP - see attached image) of a SharePoint Online site. We see that we can edit the last 6 slots of the color palette by changing the 'ContentAccent1' to 'ContentAccent6' values in .SPCOLOR file of Themes galley, creating a new theme using the new .SPCOLOR file in Composed Looks and applying the new theme on the site. However we have requirement to add more than 6 custom colors & their shades in the color palette. Has anyone come across this type of requirement and is there an way to achieve it? Also we see that in Microsoft PPT 2016 file, we can add our own custom 'color section' in the color palette by modifying .XML file of the theme. In SharePoint (from 2013 version onwards), there is no provision to modify the theme file directly (its linked through .SPFONT & .SPCOLOR files through Composed Looks). Is there any way to add such custom colors section in the color palette of SharePoint online site? Regards, Aashish DholeChange the look panel, no themes available
When I look at different tenants at the moment in the Change the look panel on a Communication site, there are no themes available. When I open up PowerShell and enter Get-PnPTenantTheme, several themes are retrieved and so available in my tenant. Does anybody else experience this? What I also see is that in my SPFx web part, when I try to retrieve a theme color in my sass file with: "[theme:neutralLight, default: #eaeaea]" it doesn't give me back any color, even not the default specified.
