Hi I have tried to search for an answer to this to no avail. We have a SharePoint list and want to create a rule that sends an email when a new list item is created. Sounds simple but I can't seem to add a SharedMailbox email address only UserMailbox email addresses. We do have a work around where we have created a rule in outlook instead that when the email arrives to the UserMailbox forward it to the correct SharedMailbox but it seems a bit silly that I can't directly add a SharedMailbox to the SharePoint list directly from the below. See below the screenshot of where I am trying to insert the SharedMailbox email address. It doesn't find it and if I add it in manually the create rule button doesn't activate. Am I missing something? Thank you!122Views0likes3CommentsAutomatic Version History in SharePoint Online
Hi, I want to turn on Automatic Version History to reduce storage. Has anyone implemented this on existing Large Libraries? What I want to know is, does it use the current meta data and delete versions straight away and free up space quickly? Or will it only start analysing from when you change the setting and i'll have to wait a longer time to reduce versions? Many thanks! Does anyone know if there's a way to completely hide the +Add Column button from a Library view? My users have Contribute access (cannot go any lower as they need to work with the library, adding and editing) and I can see if takes away their ability to create new columns - which is great. However, to avoid confusion (and them changing the view and then losing it when navigating away) I really want to just take it away altogether. Is there a way to do this? With JSON on view formatting perhaps?Solved51Views0likes2CommentsSharePoint Board view bucket limited to 9 or 10 items
Hi everyone, I have recently started using SharePoint list Board view which is perfect for my needs, however my buckets seem to be limited to a maximum of 10 items. When I drag the 10th item into the bucket I get a red circle with a cross appearing at the top of the bucket and the card I tried to move to that bucket is put back where i dragged it from. Screen shot below of the bucket heading and the icon I'm talking about. Can anyone tell me what is going on here and how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!14Views0likes0CommentsUnable to cast object Error
Hi Team, I'm facing an issue in a sharepoint list which has a calendar view in it, at the time we edit an item to update some values we got below error: Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFieldChoice' to type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFieldNumber'. What would be the issue?, and as per the message it seems to be that one of the columns is causing the issue, but the thing is that it was working fine for long time without any changes to the columns or any action being done in the configurations until 2 days ago we got to see this message. If we define this retention policy on one site:- So what does this policy exactly means? it means that items modified 5 years ago will be permanently deleted even if they are not deleted? or it only affect deleted items? Second question, is there a way for the admin to monitor the items that are near to be permanently deleted due to a retention policy? or the items that were already permanently deleted? Thanks16Views0likes0Comments"Allow only users in specific security groups to share externally" to each site separately ?
Inside SharePoint online admin center, we can define security groups who can share with external users, which will get applied to all sites:- but can we have this settings at the site level using the UI or using Power shell? so each site will have different security groups which can share with external users? We want to apply this retention policy to some sites:- Mainly to keep the documents forever. But my question, let say a user delete a document from a SharePoint online document library, and the file get deleted from the first stage recycle bin and from the second stage recycle bin of the site either manually or after 93 days. then where the file will be stored? second question, if the file has custom metadata applied to it, such as Managed Metadata or Choice field or custom permission .. what will happen to those metadata and permissions? Third question, does the above retention policy allow us to restore the retained files to their original locations? Thanks10Views0likes0CommentsConfused about public CDN and if its required to host custom fonts
We would like to add custom fonts for our Intranet using SharePoint online. I see that to use the brand center you must enable a public CDN. We are concerned that our assets could be accessed anonymously when using the public CDN. Is there any way to enable the brand center with only assets stored in SharePoint online and not enable the CDN. Our offices are all based in the same region so CDN is not required.29Views0likes1CommentCan we disable the versioning changes on the libraries and only force it from the Organization
Hi All, I am reading about the new capabilities offered by SharePoint for "Version history" @ https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/version-overview . now I have this question:- Is there a way to disable those versioning settings from the library level for all libraries and all sites (current and new) , and only allow this to be managed from the Organization level? or this is not supported?
