Is there a way to hide the email address in this setting when using Microsoft Account sync? Sometimes we need to take screenshots or screen recordings of this setting, and I don’t want my email address to be displayed here. Maybe it could be replaced with a group role like "Administrator" or just "Microsoft Account" instead of showing the actual email address.13Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 cold boot keyboard issues.
Hi, I recently upgraded a Lenovo T470 from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro. Everything works on the upgrade except the keyboard on a cold boot. From a power off state if I turn the laptop on when it launches into Windows 11 the keyboard and the eraserpoint mouse do not work; the touchpad does work. If I warm boot the machine the keyboard and eraserpoint mouse work fine until the machine is turned off again. I've tried changing drivers and going through all of the troubleshooting with the keyboard but to no avail. Outside of windows (pre-boot & BIOS) the keyboard works fine. Previously in Windows 10 there were never any issues with the keyboard. I have compared drivers with like systems running Windows 10. The driver is the same Standard PS/2 keyboard. Any help is appreciated. Regards, Larzuk69Views0likes2Commentsremoving "let's help you get connected massage"

I am not able to use Windows Subsystem for Linux after I reinstalled Windows 11 Home version 24H2 after resetting my Dell Inspiron 5410 laptop. The same occurred with my friend on a Windows 11 Pro laptop. Before the reset, the Windows Subsystem for Linux was working fine on both of our laptops. I tried following these steps to fix the issues. Step 1: I tried "Turn Windows features on or off," in which I enabled Windows Subsystem for Linux, which should make me use Ubuntu on my Windows PC after upgrading to version 2 using a kernel update. when I tried to update the WSL kernel By downloading and installing the latest WSL 2 kernel from Microsoft’s WSL Kernel Update. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-manual Step 4: Download the Linux kernel update package. It says, "This update is applicable to machines with the Windows subsystem for Linux." and does not install updates WSL allows the following features: Ubuntu terminal environment in minutes with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). Develop cross-platform applications, improve your data science or web development workflows, and manage IT infrastructure without leaving Windows. Key features: - Efficient command line utilities, including bash, ssh, git, apt, npm, pip, and many more - Manage Docker containers with improved performance and startup times - Leverage GPU acceleration for AI/ML workloads with NVIDIA CUDA - A consistent development-to-deployment workflow when using Ubuntu in the cloud But "Turn Windows features on or off" did not help. Step 2: Then, I tried installing WSL manually with the following codes: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-manual Step 1 - Enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux Step 3 - Enable Virtual Machine feature PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> .exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart >> Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.26100.1150 Image Version: 10.0.26100.2605 Enabling feature(s) [==========================100.0%==========================] The operation completed successfully. PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> .exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart >> Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.26100.1150 Image Version: 10.0.26100.2605 Enabling feature(s) [==========================100.0%==========================] The operation completed successfully. Although it ran, it was not helpful even after 100 percent installation, but it did not help. Step 3: I tried following the codes in PowerShell as Administrator: wsl.exe --install wsl --install wsl.exe --update PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> wsl.exe --install Class not registered Error code: Wsl/CallMsi/Install/REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> wsl --install Class not registered Error code: Wsl/CallMsi/Install/REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG none of these codes helped. Step 4. When I tried running the command Bash in PowerShell as Administrator. C:\Windows\System32>bash Class not registered Error code: Bash/CallMsi/Install/REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG It did not run. Step 5: I verified virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Restart your computer and access the BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F2, Del, or a similar key during boot). Look for settings like Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) or AMD-V and ensure they are enabled. Save changes and reboot into Windows. Step 6: Another error was given Error: 1168 Error code 1168 usually translates to "Element not found" in Windows. This error indicates that some required files, registry entries, or features are missing or improperly configured. In the context of WSL installation. Step 7: I even tried reinstalling Windows, which did not help. Step 8: I installed Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for x64 devices). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 But this also does not fix my issue. Step 9: Even the Windows customer support team was not able to help. I guess this is the issue with most of the system. Please help me fix it. and there may be a bug in Windows 11.562Views2likes1CommentWindows Version 24H2 Causes Remote Desktop to Freeze on reconnect.
After upgrading to Windows 11 latest version We lost the ability to reconnect in Remote Desktop as the screen just went black and froze. The only fix was to login as a different user and kick the other account out or login locally and log out. I researched this and was told to install all new updates and this would resolve the issue. We have homeworkers that connect over a VPN and this is causing work loss. When I look it up I get all kinds of different answers like. I read to deploy the latest patches to fix this, but nothing has worked. The only work around I have is to kick the user using qwinsta to find the session and rwinsta to kill it. I have tried turning off UDP and all the other work arounds I found with no luck. I am getting ready to just switch them out to another remote program as this is ridiculous that Microsoft would release a patch and not have tested it on a highly used application.Solved7.6KViews3likes20CommentsAudio devices disappearing?
My monitor is plugged into an Nvidia 4090 via a DP cable. I use the audio channel of this DP connection, and this always worked fine until a few months ago: The audio device disappeared. In Device Manager it used to show up under 'Audio inputs and outputs'. Using a HDMI cable also doesn't make the audio device reappear. I also have a USB headset, and a few weeks after the problem above, this audio device also disappeared! The headset is still detected under 'Sound, video and game controllers' but I cannot select it in the windows audio options. Same here, it used to show up under 'Audio inputs and outputs'. Now when I plug it in, there is a 'USB Composite Device' which appears under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' but that's it. The headset does work in my laptop, so there must be something wrong with my PC. I tried reinstalling the Nvidia driver, the headset's driver and the onboard Realtek audio device's driver but nothing helps.31Views0likes1CommentRDP to Windows 11 workstations don't work!
Good morning We are currently migrating our workstations from Windows 10 to Windows 11. We currently have 7 computers migrated and we use remote access to them for teleworking employees. It turns out that using RDP, those who access Windows 10 computers do so without problems, but those who access Windows 11 computers have many problems with access, which is slow and crashes easily. And this happens, we tested, even when accessing from a computer on the same network as the Windows 11 computers. I've been on the internet trying to find solutions and I haven't found any definitive solutions, just suggestions like try this or try this other thing! I would like to know if anyone knows what is happening and how to overcome this problem. The Windows 11 installed is 24H2 build 26100.2894. Thank you very much!
