add-ons
5 TopicsAbout 'addon_site_log_capture.log' and 'Edge Add-Ons Site Diagnostics'
@ MS Edge Feedback Team 3, I'm sorry about trying to address you directly with this topic from here, but it's only because you confirmed me receiving 2nd feedback I created about being unable to install 'Clipboard History Pro' specific Edge Extension(Add-on) from Edge Add-ons BETA (MS store) (and also because I found no other instructions around about avoiding to try to do so from here...). Because I've found 'addon_site_log_capture.log' inside C:\Users\<myalias>\AppData\Local\Temp and because I know with my feedback you already collected 'Edge Add-Ons Site Diagnostics' I'd basically like to know if that one I found corresponds to the one you already collected. Otherwise I'll obviously be very happy to send same file I found to you (unless you might prefer to give me other instructions to follow to provide it to you... ) Best Regards RobSolved1.1KViews0likes1CommentFeature suggestion: search in the store from extension search bar
Current Behavior: In the edge extension page, there is a search bar for searching the extensions which are already installed. There is a link below search bar to Get extensions for Microsoft Edge and if extension is not found it page displays message "No search results found" and brings the "Get extensions for Microsoft Edge" button to top that is again the same link. Suggestion: Add capability to bring search results from the extension store if extension not found in the installed extensions. Instead of sending user to the landing page of extension store, send to the extension search page with the search query. For the better understanding, I have attached two videos one is with the current behaviour and another one is after implementation of this feature.1.2KViews2likes2CommentsSome thoughtful facts about Extension stores
Microsoft has its own extension store: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/category/Edge-Extensions Opera has its own extension store: https://addons.opera.com/en/ Google Chrome has its own extension store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions I call them extensions but they are also called add-ons too. Google lets Microsoft and Opera browsers to install extensions from Chrome extension store but this is Not happening the other way around. Both Microsoft and Opera are blocking Google Chrome browser from installing extensions from their stores. This is clearly and obviously Unfair. Imagine if Google had done the same thing.. The number of extensions in Opera and Microsoft extension stores in total, barely constitute even 1% of the extensions available on the Chrome web store. so yes I'm very glad that Google is letting us install extensions from Their extension store and not blocking access to us just like Microsoft and Opera is doing right now. I do hope Microsoft change this and let other browsers to be able to install extensions/add-ons from Microsoft extension store.1.3KViews1like2Comments
