Hello Everyone, While installing Microsoft Teams, the error message described in the subject line is thrown. Am running Microsoft Windows Version - 1909 A couple of troubleshooting tips found on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/troubleshoot-installation have been tried but the error still shows up. Any idea on how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated. UPDATES I did a comparison of 2 SquirrelSetup.log files. (Both PC runs Windows 1909 and the same build number. The PC 1(Throwing up the JavaScript error above)logged some issues not found in the PC 2 as shown below: ----start---- ApplyReleasesImpl: Couldn't run Squirrel hook, continuing: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe: System.OperationCanceledException: The operation was canceled. at System.Threading.CancellationToken.ThrowOperationCanceledException() at Squirrel.Utility.<>c__DisplayClass11_0.<InvokeProcessAsync>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.Utility.<InvokeProcessAsync>d__11.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.UpdateManager.ApplyReleasesImpl.<>c__DisplayClass18_1.<<invokePostInsta ll>b__2>d.MoveNext() ---end---- FURTHER UPDATES Many suggestions found on GitHub, Microsoft support site, blogs and other websites have been tried. So after spending several hours googling and searching for a working solution, the following finally worked on the PC in question. A standard user account was created on the PC. Downloaded a new Microsoft teams app. In services.msc, the status of a service called Quality Windows Audio Video Experience was also manually started. Executed the app and no JavaScript error was thrown. N.B: I am still not satisfied with this fix, cos i applied the same troubleshooting approach on another PC throwing up the same JavaScript error, and the fix doesn't work on it. 🙂Solved201KViews1like11CommentsCQ - Powershell for Output
Hi I have a Powershell that outputs the data. The output of "DistributionLists" is on screen correct. If exported on the File it is "System.Guid[]" How can the "System.Guid[]" be translated in a real Guid and not "System.Guid[]". Thanks for your answer JFM_12Solved63Views0likes4CommentsJoining webinars without registering
Hey, We are planning to organize our weekly webinars using Teams Webinars in the future. We would really like to provide a direct link for joining the webinars instead of requiring attendees to register. I figured out how to copy the joining link from the webinar details, but since this link is not visibly available in the Teams app, I would like to know whether this is a sustainable solution and recommended by Microsoft. Additionally, we would like to keep the option for attendees to register. Thanks!28Views0likes1CommentTeams Auto Attendant & Call Queue Historical Reports
Hello Microsoft provides Power BI Solution "Auto attendant and Call queue historical reports - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn". I would like to give it to the business. Is there an explanation (Video etc.) for this Power BI? Regards JFM_12Solved57Views0likes2Commentsteam link opens a channel window with no obvious navigation to the whole team
I am sharing a Team Site with my student through a link in the syllabus. I am using the "Get Link to Team" to generate the link. However when the students click on the link and ask to have it open in the Teams client it opens a window with the General Channel Posts with no other access or menus to the rest of the team channels, tabs, etc. IMO this should open the client to the Team view.31Views0likes1CommentTeams meeting - to show a shared mailbox name, NOT real members
Hi All, There is a group of several people added to a shared mailbox named "Technical group 5" with the following permissions: Full Access Send as Send on behalf Of course, these people can send messages as the shared mailbox email address and in this case their personal email addresses are hidden for the recipients. QUESTION: Is it possible to hide their personal information when participating in the Microsoft Teams meetings the same way as for exchanging email messages described upper? So, as requested, in a Teams meeting all participants see "Technical group 5" but NOT the real member of this group, currently taking part in this event. ------------------------------------------------- I tried 2 ways: --- Creating a Teams meeting from a shared mailbox like this way - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/create-a-teams-meeting-from-a-shared-mailbox/491628f5-9895-42e2-96bd-87947f574a74 --- Adding a shared mailbox as a participant of the Microsoft Teams meeting But unfortunately, in both cases I couldn't "hide" the real members of "Technical group 5", all the meeting's participants see the real person, not the requested shared mailbox name ("Technical group 5") Please share your opinion or experience in this area. Hi Much like in slack where you can type `#other_channel` and then clicking on that would take you there, I'd like to similarly be able to reference other channels in messages. Why - because I can tell people where to post things or where to look for things more easily. Thanks!8.3KViews0likes4CommentsTeam Android Mobile app syncing issue
I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue affecting a significant portion of our fleet of Android devices. Approximately 10-20 percent of our devices are experiencing a perplexing problem with the Teams application, wherein certain teams fail to sync and update properly. To date the only fix is for the user to log into a web browser version of teams and look at the teams channel it then updates on the tablet. The symptoms of this issue are as follows: despite new posts being made in a channel, affected devices display outdated information and fail to reflect the latest updates. Consequently, users are unable to access crucial information in a timely manner, significantly impeding workflow and collaboration efforts. To date, we have exhausted various troubleshooting measures, all of which have proven ineffective in resolving the issue. These include: Clearing cache and temporary files: This action results in channels appearing blank, devoid of any data, including both old and new posts. Logging out and then back in: Despite attempting to re-authenticate, the problem persists. Deleting the Teams application from the device: Reinstalling the application has not yielded any improvements. Interestingly, we have observed that if a user is tagged in a post, the content becomes accessible through the activity tab of Teams. However, this workaround is not a sustainable solution for our operational needs. Given the severity of this issue and its adverse impact on our productivity, we urgently require your assistance in identifying and rectifying the root cause from the administrative side. Any insights or guidance you can provide to resolve this matter expediently would be greatly appreciated.511Views0likes2Comments
