Good morning, We would love the following to be introduced please if possible: being able to specify the colour of each section for pupils when setting up Class Notebooks (not having to change these individually.) We use a different coloured exercise book for each subject, so it would be great to be able to specify that all English sections for the pupils would be (e.g. blue) when setting up the Class Notebook for the first time. Thank you.853Views0likes1CommentStaff Notebook to Class Notebook
Hello everyone. I wondered if anyone can give any advice / tips to the following. I teach in a department where I see 11 classes for only 1 hour per week. Many of the classes cover the same content, so for instance I have 5 x Year 9, 3 x Year 8 etc. I have created a staff notebook for all the lesson planning, and a central place staff in my department can contribute to plans, and ultimately a place we can all centrally find 'Pages' and 'Sections' we would then want students to have access too. The issue I am finding is that I create sections and pages in the content library of our departmental Staff notebook but cannot copy it to the content library of any of my Class Notebooks that the students are in, when I select the 'Copy to Content Library' from the Staff Notebook it simply doesn't show any notebooks where I can copy it to. I am using the Windows OneNote App. This is where I am stuck. As a work around I have been having to hack together copies in one of my Class Notebooks, where I can 'Copy to Content Library' of my other classes. However I am finding that classes are all starting to have slightly different versions from the planned departmental ones. Should I actually be looking at 'Copy Link to Section', and linking the Class Notebooks to the central Staff Notebooks as an almost 'live' version? Essentially how are you all delivering Sections and Pages created in Staff Notebook's to the students Class Notebook's? Thanks1.3KViews1like0CommentsSection Groups can only move, not copy
Why is this? When you right click on a section, you get 'Move or Copy' When you right click on a section group, you only get 'Move' We do our appraisals with Class Notebooks (because that's how it suits us). It adds hours to the set up because we have to manually copy master sections to each teacher, instead of being able to copy the whole section group.828Views0likes0CommentsMoving a student from one class notebook to another
When you want to move a student from one class notebook to another, using right click>Move, how do you re assign permissions so that the student can access it properly in the other class? Or do you have to add them to another class, (with manage notebook> add student) then copy their existing stuff into the newly created section? Cheers John850Views0likes0CommentsAdd Students isn't previewing a list if a group code was used
When you add students to a class notebook using a group code such as Subject-9ENG, you used to get a preview of the names in that group in the 'did we get it right?' window. Tried to do it just now and the preview isn't there anymore. This is a pain for teachers of core subjects like English, when there are 8 groups 9 ENG to choose from. Is this the result of an update, or a bug at my end?669Views0likes0CommentsHow do we manage collaboration space permissions in notebooks created in Classroom?
Hi Great news about the ability to add permissions to collaboration spaces in class notebook: https://blogs.office.com/2017/04/19/onenote-class-notebook-updates-include-read-only-parent-or-guardian-access-and-collaboration-space-permissions/ One snag I have found is that I cannot use the method shown in the video for class notebooks that I have created in Classroom, as they are not saved in OneDrive. The option to change these settings do not exist when I try to manage the class notebook in Classroom itself. I am worried this problem will reoccur when class notebook is added to Teams, so hopefully somebody can shed light on this. I have a teacher with a rather strange issue. Lately, whenever he creates a page in OneNote and then uses the OneNote Class Notebook Add-in to Distribute the page to the student sections, the newly copied pages have an incorrect date/time on the page. This appears to be a timezone issue, as the new pages will be roughly 12 hours behind the time the operation is started. Has anyone else seen this issue, or know what might be causing it? I've checked the local timezone settings, and everything is fine. New pages created manually all show the correct date and time. Any help would be appreciated.932Views0likes0CommentsClass Notebook tools disabled.
We have class notebook tools installed on 109 Surface Pro 4 devices and working great. However, on device no. 110 they do not appear. They are installed but appear in the add ons list as disabled and greyed out. Tried unintelligible and reinstalling and same problem. We haven't done anything different on this machine. Any advice about getting No. 110 working?2.2KViews0likes3Comments
