Hi, on Friday I connected this excel file in Sharepoint to a PowerBI desktop report I am developing. No errors. Today, Monday, as soon as I opened the PBI desktop file, I got the error (1st screenshot attached) which I didn't have on Friday and nothing has changed regarding file connections. Then, as a test, I opened a new blank Power BI desktop file, and tried to connect all over to the sharepoint file to see if I got the same error. And I sort of did - see 2nd screenshot attached. But what I don't understand is why there would be this error now when it wasn't an issue the last time I opened this file on Friday and nothing has changed in terms of connection. I'm looking into building a SharePoint Engagement Metrics report. I understand that SharePoint provides some basic analytics but this view does not offer user granularity. https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/my-sharepoint-site/_layouts/15/siteanalytics.aspx?view=19 I'm looking into using the Office 365 Unified Audit Logs, specifically the 'ViewedPage' SharePoint activity. Is this the right approach for this? Is there a better option, if so what are those options? Please advise.3.4KViews0likes5CommentsError connecting sharepoint custom list with PowerBi "We couldn't parse OData response result"

I want to build 3 charts and show them inside my SharePoint online modern page, the charts are as follow:- 1) First chart is to group the items from a single SharePoint list by Created date, and show the total number of items based on the day of the week (Mon till Sun). So for example, if today is Wednesday, it should show the results from past Tuesday till today (Wednesday) 2) Second chart is to show the total number of items from 4 different lists and show the percentage inside a pie chart 3) Third chart is to group the items from a single SharePoint list by Created date, and show the total number of items based on the month from the first month of the year till current month. So can i build these charts using Power Bi and embed them inside SharePoint modern page? Thanks1.6KViews0likes5CommentsPowerBi get data from multiple site collections
Hi, There is a requirement to produce a PowerBi report / dashboard but rather than getting information from a single site, their is a need to gather information from multiple site collections. The other requirement is that these site collections can grow and the url's of the site are unknown until the site is created (all sites to be reported on will have the same pre-fixed characters though) The sites will contain the same list and columns. Ideally, PowerBi should be able to slice and dice the data from various sites. Is this possible?1.5KViews0likes1CommentSharePoint folders and re-sharing permissions with external parties
Hello I have a site in our company, that has been requested to share certain folders with external parties (not in our domain) and to also allow them to reshare the folders. I have tried several different ways, from link sharing, to adding them to the users allowed to edit. The end users can see the files and do what they need, but are not allowed to re-share it (this is a screenshot from 1 of the external shared users) Please help Thanks1.4KViews0likes2CommentsAccess Request Sharepoint Site
Hi Experts, I am looking for a SharePoint functionality to implement in our reporting project. I have a SQL server database table which has City Hierarchy data. Now I want to build a Reports Access Site which should have the City arranged in hierarchical order (Country->Region->State->City).In order to view the data for respective cities, the user need to go to this site and create an access request by selecting the cities/state/region/country he needs access to and then submit for approval. This request should then go through various approval levels and then store this request along with approval details/status in another database table in SQL SERVER so that it can be used by system to provide access. Is this doable and if yes then is there any links/videos which can guide me on how to do it. Thanks Nivi1.4KViews0likes1Comment
