Microsoft Teams e-mail notifications (mentions, chat, etc.) not working
Hi, I'm evaluating the notification features of Microsoft Teams. Unfortunatly notifications are not sent to users via e-mail. I double checked all settings in Teams, Admin-Center, etc., changed them, waited hours....nothing. It does not work in my trial tenant, in another production tenant, with internal users, guests, or any other account. No notification emails. A few weeks ago I got a notification email from a partner tenant about an missed chat. But since then nothing was in my inbox. All other email notfications, invitations (Planner, Teams-Invitation, etc.) are working! Has anyone else an similar issue? Kind regards Marc
Linking "Group" emails from Planner to Teams
Hello all, We have recently started to use MS planner in addition to our normal workflow with Teams. We have quickly noticed however that there seems to be no easy way to get the task comments from planner to show up on the teams conversation page. All comments are sent to a "Group" email box in exchange. I tried to create a rule in Flow to automatically forward those messages to the Teams page, but Flow does not have access to to the Groups inboxes. Does anyone know a work around to get the comments from Planner (Which is already linked to Teams) to show up in Teams? It seems rather odd to me that MS choose to have "conversations" in planner as an Outlook extension rather than a collaboration tool like Teams. Comments from tasks go here. Cannot get them here, where we do our work.
Using IM option to reply to email - no Subject line passed to Teams conversation
Back in the olden days - 2018 - when we used SfB instead of Teams for IM, one of the neat features was if you replied to an email with an IM it put the email Subject line in the SfB Title bar meaning the recipient could see the context of the reply. Now that we have migrated to Teams, if I do the same operation it starts a conversation with the sender OK but does not include the Subject line, so unless I am responding to a recent email the recipient doesn't have a clue what I am talking to. A couple of years ago during the Teams preview phase I raised a query regarding the lack of a Subject line in Chat and was told it wasn't needed in Chat and was only available in Teams conversations. The real reason is that persistent chat doesn't lend itself to Titles/Subjects because it is just an endless scrolling dialogue. Whatever the MS Product Marketing guys say Teams does NOT have feature parity with SfB yet as this omission means one of the best features of SfB - reducing internal emails by replying with a chat - is not possible in a practical sense. Maybe they should take a look at Parlano if they want to see how a persistent chat app works.... The same comment applies to the lack of a visible Conversation History folder, search is NOT the answer to everything. I am surprised these comments don't come up in the internal dog-fooding phase, or is it just because most MD dev guys don't have any real life experience of corporate messaging because they have grown up with Facebook/WhatsApp?New account Notifications
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has come up with or knows of a good way to automate a notification that a new account has been set up for them in Teams. At the moment once license is assigned and the account is created I have a welcome email template set up for them, and send out manually, this is fine for now as we are only at the start of the rollout but when it becomes larger numbers of staff in bulk I was hoping to automate this somewhat. Any help appreciated.
How secure are emails sent to a Teams channel?
We are exploring the option of having individuals from outside our organization email sensitive information directly to a Teams channel. It would be scanned in Outlook via an iPad and emailed to the channel directly. How secure is the information that they are sending in to us? {Question / Suggestion} - Is there a way to email files or links directly from Teams?
Hello! I am wondering if there is a way from the Teams desktop app to select a file and either email the link, or a current copy of the file, directly to an email address? This could be useful for possibly keeping a dated log of progress by emailing current copies of the files stored on a weekly/monthly/whatever basis, Or to share files outside of teams more easily than downloading a copy of the file and then sending that out through Outlook. It seems like it would be an easy integration to the Office 365 email service, and would improve ease of use for several scenarios. If this already exists, please let me know where to find it! Otherwise, consider this a suggestion for a new feature. Thanks,
