Cannot customize keyboard shortcuts and new shortcuts are overriding my plugins
Two things: 1. Why can we still not customize/disable keyboard shortcuts for new features? Specifically, Command+Shift+X on mac (which is used by just about anyone using 1Password, so I assume quite a few) now pops up some drag and select copy text thing which I didn't want in the first place. Can't find anywhere to disable it. 2. The Command key on mac is not detected in the shortcut box, so effectively we cannot make shortcuts that use it. You must fix this. Also--extensions and system shortcuts should override Edge's shortcuts, not the other way around.
It's not possible to use the sidebar shortcut on Nordic keyboards
The shortcut for the sidebar is Ctrl+Shift+/ which prevents it from being able to be utilized at all on Nordic keyboards (and likely others), since slash requires you to press Shift+7. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there's no way to rebind hotkeys in Edge. I tried rebinding the shortcut using AutoHotkey, but not even that seems to work. Although let's be honest, you shouldn't need a workaround for basic shortcuts in a browser. Please add an alternative shortcut. Ctrl+Shift+. works, period is right next to comma which is used for the vertical tabs shortcut so it would make a lot of sense.SS28: selection to bookmarks + vivaldi example of what i reported you previously
Suggestion (SS): 28 Classification: Bookmarks PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 4 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) Here my idea i got after visiting a suggestion in vivaldi about add current tab to a folder (which is available for vivaldi and edge). I tested it out and in edge is available, but creates problem, like where you continuosly add it under ddd instead inside ddd. only 1 time you added it in ddd. PS: is not the first time i see problems with other bookmarks, you should check if all functions really work correctly with other bookmarks. Same if i do that you should avoid to show me that for the creation of folders. <<<<<<< second: i tried to select 3 tabs, and then do the same. is not possible. <<<<<<< third: i still think vivaldi add to bookmark option without right click is much better. please consider to implement it to edge too. <<<< because we are talking about vivaldi, here other points i like reload miniature (i suggested this to you only for bookmarks bar) like i suggested you with shortcut for bookmarks and other things (i noticed only after sending you the suggestions, that vivaldi has already such option, but still limited compared to what i told you, which is much more complex) this is similar to what i told you too, but vivaldi show us directly the webpage, is not a second bookmarks bar ability to change default bookmarks bar. (NEW SUGGESTION, but less important, since i use different profile. it still remains cool) same like i wrote you yesterday to remove things from the bar position of new tab, like i suggested you keep last tab open, like i suggested you a lot of option like i suggested you (or better some things are not available in vivaldi too) show me only icons inside bookmarks bar, full name in other bookmarks or when you hide url from bookmarks bar (like suggested). i still think a way to add personal customized folder color to bookmarks is usefull too even if i don't really like to use shortcuts (via keyboard with crtl alt etc., not things like <ddd $dd) ... but i like how they do. trackpad gesture, like suggested is much more clean search always in new tab (NEW SUGGESTION) .... PS: until now i don't use vivaldi, because they create library folders problems. so i just use it as a normal second browser for quick searches. this is why maybe the list of good features is not complete. once devs fix such problem, i can send more vivaldi based suggestion too. i still think main points are now available in this post, a lot is already included in previous submitted suggestions. Here even what i don't like previews different colours for each tab ... other ... Suggestion (SS): 1 Classification: DATAHOARDING - MANAGEMENT - BACKUP PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 6 in a scala 1 (low) - 10 (high) If we open x image on x tabs and then we select all such x tab, edge should: 1) download image to desktop if for example i drag the tabs (not single image!) to desktop with option clicked 2) create alias if i do the same with cmd option activate 3) allow to move such tabs inside another tabs with ctrl clicked. this mean i select 100 tabs with photos, i click ctrl i move to a tab google drive and you upload all photos to google drive once i drop to their website. 4) you could even implement something similar if i click for example cmd and i move these tab to collections, in such case you add it. 5) if for example i copy cmd c 50 links on apple note, and then i paste it with a specific shortcut like alt cmd v or even other shortcuts... you should open 50 tabs with all urls. 6) if you detect a link https://i.imgur.com/xxx.jpg for example, you automatically download the jpg (if the option auto download file type is active). same for pdf, etc. to avoid chaos i think you should only allow such feature for specific website. otherwise you download all image; in such case you could use a script or extension to download all new images opened in tab, which is not the goal of the suggestion. you should maybe download all pdf, but only specific jpeg or png. 7) smart download all image if i add x images in collections. 😎same like 7) to download all links inside a folder in bookmarks (if for example this folder contains 100x imgur photo links). now i always talk about imgur, but is just an example. so we just select the folder, right click and download 9) another option is that if i select the all 3 tabs with imgur photos and then i select the image on tab 3 and drag drop this to desktop, you should export all 3 photos and not only the last (because at the end all 3 tabs are selected and contains only 1 photo). 10) export bookmark to desktop with drag drop like safari 11) same for my history - check SS2 https://link.ws/edgess2 at the moment if i click cmd, ctrl, option you simply revert the action, so you bring the tab to the original position. We have discussed the 2x to close tabs last time. i think that using browsers without the need to use the keyboard is the best browsing experience we can get. this means to use only trackpad and the mac display. At the moment on ghostbrowser i use gestures like 3 tap go to next tab; extensions to go back, next tab, merge windows, etc. i think you should implement something like better touch tool (there are different gestures example) in edge. examples: -drag a tab with 2 finder down = reopen the main page (this mean if i visit a then b ... to z, you open again a)* - 4 finder tap: save pdf - spread fingers to open a random page or to open multiple random pages* (example if the website has a link like xxx.com/xxx/page=1 you open page 35, 46, 87). we configure such things (like how many tabs, the exact interval for each website) inside setting. - circle with 1 finger to search selected text in pubmed, with 2 finders in edge store .... other example (that i don't use at all, because i don't like it) are for what would we use gesture? save/download go next/previous page (from page 3 to 4) previous/next tab merge windows search open tabs (random, or open page 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 at the same time, then other 10, so 11,12,...,20)* go to the first page you opened* copy/share urls etc. * this can be added inside edge without gestures too, because at the moment is not possible (except via extensions).
