How to disable ESC from exiting Full Screen on Mac?
On the August 21 update we got an update that included Added support for exiting full screen mode using the ESC key on Mac. This has, however, made it so a single tap of ESC will exit any maximized/full screen mode window. This is very problematic, as when working in full screen, if I get an on-site pop up or dialog box, hitting esc often takes me entirely out of full screen, and I have to re-configure my setup, bouncing back and forth, constantly. Question: Is there any way to disable this function? It's killing my workflow Suggestion: Make it double tapping ESC, single makes for too many accidents. [macOS] awful menubar behavior in fullscreen mode
Hi together, I guess I can speak for all macOS Users that we are pissed about the behavior of the menubar when going in fullscreen mode on Edge. Few months ago I thought, I'll just try to ignore it till it gets fixed, but this fix never came and that's why I'm here :D. It's not really a huge problem but the animation just looks rough, the placement of everything looks bootleg and that behavior doesn't make any sense at all, especially because edge is the only mac app that has this problem. (I guess it's just a bug, and nobody made the effort to fix it yet.) I attached images to this thread in case y'all don't know what I'm talking about. btw: I would have no problem to fix it by myself, does microsoft has anything like a community place where you can post code proposals?I just want to tell you that i suggested other 50-100 improvements to Edge Devs in the last time
I don't share such things here, because there are a lot of personal information that i don't want to share with the public, maybe soon i will make a summary of the most important points, if you wish that. Or just wait, until Edge implement it. PROBLEM (PP): 3 Classification: EXTENSIONS PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 6 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) 1) Today i talk about a problem that i already reported to Google **1137157&hotlist_id=10394 and i see frequently in Edge too. I search i search and i search extension in the toolbar or extension box and i never find it. Since i have over 250 profiles, sometimes is difficult to remember if i installed it or not. So i try to reinstall the extension, and then i get such message. So Edge deactivated my extension. Like i asked to Google, i wish you could add a new panel for deactivated extensions and a way to reactivate at once all extensions. 2) Similar problem is ***1134182&hotlist_id=10394 about deactivated extension after sync activation which i have never seen until now in Edge (hope i will never see too). In case this happens in Edge too, add ability to approve all extensions at once, instead of showing me 20+ notifications for each edge profile. If you implement the deactivate panel like 1) we would fix this problem too. 3) since we are talking about extensions, i report you *1144126&hotlist_id=10394 another problem i noted recently in chrome, in the hope that edge dev can fix it, if this problem is available in edge too. i noted this problem even with 360chrome. 8+ minutes where you simply showed me 200 notifications about extensions crash. Please check that you avoid to show me 1000 messages if there is a total crash. At least in google was automatically, in 360chrome i needed to approve each crash one by one; after 20 i relaunched the browser (much faster). 4) about google chrome removed extension topic ***1143025&hotlist_id=10394 i haven't tested this in edge until now (or i have never seen such message), but would be cool that edge is able to sync deleted extensions (marked as malware by google) from chrome store (extensions, that are not available in edge store). Or to sync manual added extensions. we all know that google delete extensions in batch, would be cool that we can still use such extensions, that worked fine for months. Maybe you are already able to do that, or maybe not. I will test this in future. Suggestion (SS): 40 Classification: DATAHOARDING On Vivaldi i see different people posting other suggestions related to hoarding, so i decided to post here my other suggestions too (part 1 https://link.ws/edgess11), even if i know not all users will use it. I know that such suggestions can be reached (or at least in some parts) via scripts, extensions, terminal or macapps and are not the main focus of browsers. Said that, if you are interested read the post, otherwise skip it. I give you simply ideas, and such ideas are really hoarding focused. I know that this is maybe not legal for all websites too. those are just ideas. First we start with a feature that i never discovered before and after trying it i discovered in opera for mac we need to use option. i tried on edge and is not supported 2) i already talked about overlay button with both integration to mac or to onedrive as destination, or save to different folders in right menu, or drag drop download, or other https://link.ws/edgedatahoarder. another option would be to add a download button below each video and photo, no matter where. 3) about a smart select feature i already reported you before. Implemented on datahoarding activities means select 20 links and download all pdf at the same time (or other files). 4) a feature to detect images, document, movies, pdf in the site and download all that at once, or download only pdf for example. About images, would be better to download the full image, and not small pictures. 5) maybe add both option save to mac and open pdf in tab and maybe using a different destination, so download to /user/blabla/pdf and maybe sorted by source website. in such way we can directly read the paper too, and if needed we can copy that to other clouds directly once you implement the suggestion of importing in onedrive or you can directly integrate an option save to onedrive and to mac at the same time. 6) a way to copy a single link to a list and then copy the whole url in this list (this doesn't mean to use edge collections). once we are done we could use such lists to download files via other web apps, or mac app or terminal 7) a way to submit url to terminal directly, by adding specific terms (example https://www.pair.com/support/kb/paircloud-downloading-files-with-wget/). so we can manually add terms for wget, youtubedl, etc.. once we visit a page, we click right click or on the menu bar and select send to terminal and then we select wget or ytdl, or other. 😎integration of 7 for 6) 9) if i select 10 tabs an option to copy urls and maybe add support for 7) or 4) 10) a way to save such things to favorite without need to use bookmarks. in such way we know exactly where we get such files if someone ask us where we get that. the problem is that files show such metadata, but a lot of times is missing. 11) about 10) the feature of yesterday https://link.ws/edgevvss1 can help too. 12) a way to autorename all downloaded files, example if i use macuser A edge profile B i want on all my files a name like " xxx - macA edgeB" 13) renaming can be used for other goals too, like add the title of the post to the pdf, the url, or other information. 14) smart macos auto tags: we configure specific rules "like from website xx add tag xx" and add tag macA and edgeB too (related to 12.) 15) optionally add comments, but tags are much more useful. 16) like 5) an option to download files by source urls in specific folders. 17) torrent support like coccoc (i already reported that as comment in another post) 18) integrated vpn (same here) I copy the wish of another user here tooSS38: screenshot based warning - color tabs - reload - download status on tabs

We talked about reload by domain and why such feature is cool and useful. now a similar suggestion is that you detect all website that has the same identical layout (so screenshot based). if i click via menu bar or right click menu "warn me based on this website" you color all tabs that have the similar layout/design. related to the picture, you warn me if the link has not be saved correctly on all other tabs. now about this website we generally** can see such problems via the icon in the tab, but there are a lot other examples, where we need to check manually, otherwise we batch close not completed websites. **there are still situations where the icon is not a valid method to know if the website (in this case webarchive) completed the task correctly or not. this was another example we talked via feedback app where maybe a better integration between "smart screenshot warning" and "reload tab" should happen. another suggestion related to this is to show me on the tab an icon --> that marks you are downloading files from such tab and once the download is done, you color it in green.SS36: smart social media text expander

Suggestion (SS): 31 Classification: macos spaces PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 3-5 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) add "move tab to new window and move it to the left/right macos spaces at the same time", this means i need to right click on the tab, i choose move to "macos space right" or "macos space left" and you separate it (= you create a new window) and you move it to left or right. if on the right there is no spaces available, when i choose such option, you simply generate a new space and move the window. this would avoid a lot of manual steps.SS17: smart duplication tabs
Suggestion (SS): 17 Classification: TABS PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 4 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) now we can duplicate with right click and if we select 3 tabs you create other 3. so for example 1->2 we select all and we get 4, same and we get 8 (by duplicating 3x) in my opinion would be more faster if we use the opt or cmd key. if we click ctrl you show right menu, for all other there is no reaction (once we click on a tab). so if i visit "website xxx create account xxx" in incognito and i want to duplicate 6x the tab there is the method i wrote above, or we can use an extension "open batch url" (where we write 6x the link) or use bookmarks folder with 6x links (but this is only useful if the website is always the same) or we open 6 tabs and paste the url to each. i think we should add "click cmd on the tab 6x consecutively" then open 6x the same tab with the same link. this would be useful even outside incognito
