I've been using Microsoft Authenticator Beta app for a while on my Android phone, today I received an update and now the app works as a system-wide password manager (Password filler), for all websites and apps. This should work on IOS too. A: Authenticator app already provides a high level of security for multi-factor authentication and account management, and the same high security bar is also extended to managing your passwords. 1. install Google Chrome (or other Chromium based browsers, including Edge itself) 2. install Microsoft Autofill extension 3. Sign into your Microsoft account in the extension 4. Access your Passwords safely and hassle-free * you do Not need to sign in to Google account for this. ** this works on Mac and Windows too, basically any environment where you can install this extension in. The extension also has Import feature, so you can import your passwords at once from a file and save them to your Microsoft account. Questions & answers about Microsoft Authenticator app - Azure AD | Microsoft Docs Q: How are my passwords protected by the Authenticator app? A: Authenticator app already provides a high level of security for multi-factor authentication and account management, and the same high security bar is also extended to managing your passwords. Strong authentication is needed by Authenticator app: Signing into Authenticator requires a second factor. This means that your passwords inside Authenticator app can't be accessed even if someone has your Microsoft account password. Autofill data is protected with biometrics and passcode: Before you can autofill password on an app or site, Authenticator requires biometric or device passcode. This ensures that even if someone else has access to your device, they cannot fill or see your password, as they’d be unable to provide the biometric or device PIN. Furthermore, a user cannot open the Passwords page unless they provide biometric or PIN, even if they turn off App Lock in app settings. Encrypted Passwords on the device: Passwords on device are encrypted, and encryption/decryption keys are never stored and always generated on-the-fly. Passwords are only decrypted when user wants to, that is, during autofill or when user wants to see the password, both of which require biometric or PIN. Cloud and network security: Your passwords on the cloud are encrypted and decrypted only when they reach your device. Passwords are synced over an SSL-protected HTTPS connection, which ensures no attacker can eavesdrop on sensitive data when it is being synced. We also ensure we check the sanity of data being synced over network using cryptographic hashed functions (specifically, hash-based message authentication code).9.6KViews2likes4Comments[FIXED] Why Edge on Android is using super old Chromium engine?
Edge on Android is now on the latest version, the same as Edge desktop, everything is new and up to date. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/new-edge-canary-mobile-version-available-now-updated-chromium/m-p/2275690 I'm using Edge beta on Android 9. the Chromium version in it is version 77. right now the latest stable version is 80, Beta is 81 so naturally, just like Google chrome itself, Edge Beta should have Chromium 81 but in reality it is using a very old Chromium version 77. Why is that? p.s I detected the engine version using multiple websites that are made to detect browser engines in browsers.9.4KViews3likes11CommentsNew Edge Canary Mobile version - Available Now - Updated Chromium version

On mobile side of the new Edge. It respects Page Visibility API what is common thing on video and other media content sites. PVA is a way to tell the player (inside of a page) that the device don't anymore see it and then it pause the content playing. That means no background play. PVA is a web standard, but if it give end users bad experience, then we need to give that user a option to disable PVA behavior. Only way now for users to use background play is to load desktop version of the site and run the player from there. Then it start to have performance issue and that is one what we don't want. So can devs for new Edge take this a something what think about.1.3KViews0likes2CommentsIs there any plans to release other Edge channels for mobile versions? Dev and Canary
Google Chrome and Firefox both offer all of their browser channels for both desktop and mobile. there are Chrome Stable/Beta/Dev/Canary channels for mobile. there are Firefox Stable/Beta/Dev/Nightly channels for mobile. there is only Edge Stable and Beta for mobile, what about Dev and Canary channels?1.2KViews0likes0CommentsEdge Mobile UI refresh / customisation
I would love to see an updated mobile UI - primarily taking another look at the bottom toolbar/menu as I think the current icons aren't necessarily the best use of space. Specifically, I think the back/forward buttons probably aren't that useful for the majority of users as the same actions can normally be performed via swipe gestures, or (in the case of Android) built in navigation in the OS. These buttons could probably be relocated to the secondary flyout menu. In their place, I think it would be much more useful to have a new tab button, and most importantly a search button - which essentially gives focus to the URL bar. A lot of users frequently request placing the URL bar at the bottom to make it easier to reach, but Brave implements a search button on the bottom bar (see screenshot), and I've found this has completely removed the need for a bottom URL bar. I'm sure countless others will disagree with how I'd personally like my icons set up, which is why, like most things - I think the abilty for users to customise the UI to suit them would be best. We already have this option for the secondary menu, it would be great if the primary UI menu could be customised in the same way.1.1KViews0likes0Comments
