43 TopicsSharepoint News images not showing in Outlook mobile when sent as digest email
I have had this issue for several years now. I have gone through all the MS troubleshooting tips to ensure images are enabled in Outlook and iOS..etc.. I have created an email digest with Power Automate of the days News articles posted in sharepoint. It sends an email that is nicely visible in OWA and Desktop with thumnails of the image for each article beside the article. When i open the email on my iPhone using Outlook app, the thumbnails are replaced by the standard missing image thumbnail. If a user posts a news article but uses a photo from the Stock Images repository, it comes through just fine. I noticed those images are stored on a CDN as opposed to our sharepoint site. My phone is registered in our AAD. Always updated with most recent iOS and App version. I can use the Sharepoint App on phone and view the news webpart with all images just fine so I know it is not my phone itself.. also same issue on a few coworker's phone that I've asked. Even after signed in to sharepoint on phone, images still do not appear in the email. Driving me nuts.. any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Hi All, I'm looking for a method of changing a News Page to a Site Page. These pages were created prior to the hub sites being rolled out, now they are showing up in the News sections of all pages. I'm familiar with the Promoted State column, but I haven't been able to find instructions on how to actually change the value in that column. I've seen references to using Flow but never any instructions on actually doing that. Any tips on this would be appreciated.Solved69KViews0likes60CommentsNews Source option disappeared on News web part?
Hello, The News Source option no longer appears in the edit menu of the News web part. We use this to filter news from specific sites but as of this morning the option has disappeared. See image, typically it would appear above Layout.: Please advise!2.1KViews0likes9CommentsWhat's the method for getting notifications when something is published on SPO?
A lot of the staff in our organization are field technicians who seem to be missing important articles being published on our SharePoint site. They aren't really ever logging in to SharePoint to observe articles or anything they may be following. To be fair to them, this is an issue for eight percent of the various staff in the company. I'm a little confused about the "correct" method for them to get near-instant notifications. Is there something I (the admin) can do to enable or push notifications (either in Teams or Outlook) to notify them something has been posted? I feel like the right way to do it, or the way it seems to maybe work, is to ⭐️ follow a SharePoint site and wait for notifications to appear either in Outlook or Teams if you're not already actively engaging on the site. Either within 24 hours or with a week, you'll get an email that says, "Here's some things you might have missed". In practice, people are telling me this (following) isn't working for them and they're complaining that they're missing notifications. I don't have their devices in my hand to confirm if their settings are correct. This seems awfully passive and not proactive enough to ensure people are being notified of new posts. Is there a singular explicit guide for getting / pushing notifications when something is published on SharePoint? Consider that some people are only using phones while others are only using computers. I would prefer that everything be pushed to staff via Teams because we're trying to drive Teams engagement across the organization. The best I've found is this article about following SPO sites but it doesn't really mention what following a site will result in (other than what you see when you log into SharePoint) or how you might get notifications https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/find-and-follow-sites-news-and-content-4411e38f-9bc5-4ecc-bd33-3dbe939ac84c Again, most people are not actively logging in to SharePoint so how can we have notifications pushed to them (in Teams)?2.3KViews0likes2CommentsFiltering News with multiple Content Types
Hi all, hoping there is something that I am missing here, but it appears that the News web part can only be set to filter based on properties shared with the current page. We use multiple site page Content Types with different properties to control our navigation, however it appears that I can't filter news based on a column, unless the page I'm currently on also contains that column. Anybody else experienced this issue, or know of a workaround (aside from adding the columns I want to filter on to the content type of the page hosting the web part)?3.1KViews1like4CommentsFiltered news (custom categories with managed data) do not appear to visitors
Hi everyone, In my SharePoint Online hubsite, in the page library, I've added a column for categories. This column is of the Managed metadata type. I added the categories to the terms store and tagged the news accordingly. In the Home page, I have three news webparts that are filtered with the created categories. Now, news is displayed correctly in each webpart for owners and members. However, the webparts don't display news for visitors except in the webpart where there are no filters and uncategorized news is displayed. How can I solve this problem?444Views0likes0CommentsNews you might have missed - turn off search?
Hello, We have just launched our intranet for our staff members on Sharepoint online. Now we notice that Sharepoint automatically sends the following: 'news you might have missed'. We don't want this because we have our own newsletter system next to it. I read that it can be dropped off at the tenant level but that is not possible because we are in a large organization and they do want to use it in other places. Is there any way around this? I read on the internet that we could turn off the 'search' on the library that our news items are in. 'Allow items from this document library to appear in search results'. Will this work? Will the news items then no longer appear in "news you might have missed email" for that site? It's hard to test it. Of course, we would like our intranet to be searchable. My idea then is to put the news items on another sharepoint site and then pick them up from the intranet site. Or isn't that possible because the search is off? I’ve noticed recently that when a news article is published it has the publish date say “in x hours." However, the other news posts on the page say "X hours ago" or "X days ago". Are there any explanations for this? I've tried disabling the show publish date option & re-enabling it, but it didn't change anything. Hi guys, recently we launched our new intranet based on SharePoint Online. To provide a good overview we added the news webpart using the news source "News recommended for current user" to our landingpage. Most of our news are posted in two languages. The news source "This site" can differ between the languages and only shows one instance of every post. The news source "News recommended for current user" is not differing here. Every user sees posts twice in the webpart, which is not really helpful. Does anyone know if we can improve the situation here? The webpart on our landingpage only shows four posts which gets reduced to two posts since every post is shown twice. Thanks in advance!763Views0likes0CommentsNews web part not working correctly when using managed property filter
Hi I'm using the News web part on our company intranet which is filtered using a managed property: From Monday this week, it's started playing up. There are 4 news posts with the managed property and each time you refresh the page, it displays a different number of news posts. Initial page load: Refresh page: Refresh again: This is happening on the latest versions of Chrome and Edge and on multiple devices. Is anyone else having the same issue?4.1KViews0likes5Comments
