Hello All, I’m using Skype for Business online and logged on with a directory synced user. We have a Exchange Hybrid and we use the same UPN for SFB Online as well. (SFB is not a hybrid). We’ve set up the DNS records correctly and have given access to see external (personal skype) users as well. It works fine where the users can add external skype users/ can see presence/ can send and receive IMs, Audio and Video. SFB Online to SFB Online file transfer works OK. However SFB Online to Personal Skype file transfer gives the error – Error in Transfer and Transfer Failed. Tried sending doc files, txt files but still the same error. Any help would be appreaciated to sort this issue. Many thanks. This is our external communication on Admin Portal (below) And the user options (below) This is our Global Conference policy And all the users have assigned to the below policy by default The event viewer always logs 2 events when it fails to transfer. Please refer below. Event 1 - A SIP request made by Lync failed in an unexpected manner (status code 80ef01e8). Please correct me if I am wrong, but why is it no longer possible to create a skype for business meeting/invitation in the o365 web calendar? I believe I did this before, but now I need to go to Outlook (local) to manage this. Hope this functionality will enter the stage again.2.6KViews2likes12CommentsNeed help > Office 2013 MSI and Skype for Business 2016 Entry / Error, Repair
So, most of our users have an Office 2013 Standard MSI Installation. We recently started rolling out Skype for Business 2016 EntryRetail (because those users only have O365 E1 licenses) for those users as well, from the Click2Run Setup via ODT2016 (setup.exe), but we're getting the following error. Mind you, this error is a Skype for Business 2016 Error, not an Outlook Error, even though the Window Title says so. I'm NOT getting the same error for those users have have Office 2013 MSI + Skype for Business 2016 ProPlus (from Click2Run) for those users with Office 365 E3 Licenses. For those unfamiliar with the used Product IDs: O365 E3 <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail"> O365 E1 <Product ID="SkypeforBusinessEntryRetail"> If found this thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/installed-skype-for-business-now-get-an-outlook/9462d75a-bc5d-48b3-9342-68e7663f66f0?page=3 though as usual answers.microsoft.com does not help with these kind of specific problems.2.3KViews0likes3CommentsCloud PBX with onprem PSTN conferencing.
Just trying to work through a scenario just now, not sure if it's possible or how but would be interested in getting some feedback if anyone has tried similar or can confirm if it's possible. Hybrid Skype for Business setup (Hybrid Exchange etc). -User initially setup onprem, enterprise voice enabled number assigned etc. all working fine (including dial in conferencing) -Assign VoiceRoutingPolicy to the user, license for Skype for Business online, Cloud PBX and move the user to sipfed.online.lync.com, so far so good, the user makes/receives calls routed out/in via onprem SIP. -Dial in conferencing no longer works for the user and when I do a meet now the meeting URL is meet.lync.com etc. Is this expected behavior? Is it possible to utalise onprem dial in conferencing when the user is on Office 365 with Cloud PBX (and NOT using Cloud PSTN)?2.1KViews0likes5CommentsWhen will Skype Meetings be available outside the US (selfishly, asking about Canada)?
www.skype.com/en/meetings If you haven't seen this, Skype Meetings looks and acts like a SfB meeting session. It's easy to join, just put in your first name, last name, and work email address. And clevery, it allows up to 10 users from the same company to essentially have the SfB experience (IM, content sharing, video)... for a few months... then limits it to 3 users, which drives the people who try this toward a full O365 purchase. Awesome! I see this as a fabulous resource for getting BDMs in orgs. that are deep with Cisco, or stuck in a Telco contract, to demo SfB in a painless and quick manner. When will this be made available outside the USA? Can you suggest any alternatives for customers in Canada who want to try this? I suppose a VPN tunnel would work... anything else?Solved1.1KViews0likes1CommentWhy does Microsoft ignore the UserVoice votes?
Skype for Business (along with many other products) have a loud set of comments and feedback and tons of votes for things that are quite old sometimes, and also seem rather simple to fix. But there is almost no feedback on UserVoice from MS. And clearly MS is busy working on other things. And the Roadmap site with all the Office 365 products, makes no mention of actually fixing bugs or addressing UserVoice votes. Essentially, MS just doing whatever they feel like without looking back. If this in some way has some chance of making it to a Product Manager as part of the community, I sure would like to hear something about this. I'm sure many others would too. There are many who #1 - definitely do not recommend Office 365 because of this and related bugs, or #2 - regreting getting into Office 365 but not willing to jump ship yet (I am in this boat), or #3 - decided to ditch Office 365 but have not completed it yet, or #4 - closed the book on O365.. most of course going to Google Apps, GMail which is far superior in web app stability, performance, integration, user experience, etc.932Views1like0CommentsMigrate Hybrid to Online with no on-premise environment
I've ran into an issue whilst migrating to Office 365, specifically Skype. There was previously an on-premise Skype setup, Office 365 was procured and the migration started. A number of pilot users were moved across who now show as 'Online' whilst everyone else shows as 'Online (hybrid)'. Through miscommunication and a complete misunderstanding, the on-premise Skype environment was fully decommissioned, including all DNS changes etc. within a week whilst i wasn't in the office. This means we have a bunch of users still showing as 'Online (hybrid)' and every subsequent new user also has a status of hybrid. Is there a way to force the existing users and any future new user to be 'Online' only?727Views0likes0Comments
