When I opened my onedrive mobile app today the app pushed a message saying that a restart was required. I restarted the app and it told me to set up my personal vault. I've been using my personal vault for several years now so no set up was required. When I logged into my personal vault, all of the files within it were missing. They're available on the online version of onedrive but not in the app version. There's nothing in the recycling bin and there's no recent activity to suggest mass movement/deletion of files. I've restarted the app multiple times, tried with and without wifi, and have tried on different devices - all are showing an empty vault. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a syncing issue or a bug with the new app?310Views6likes5CommentsAdding a folder on an external drive to OneDrive
The reason for asking this question is existing discussions on the subject seem to provide contradictory information. Can I include a folder (i.e., D:\Finances\Taxes\TY 2024) on the USB external drive D: and all subfolders to the default OneDrive folders under C:\Users\nagdt\OneDrive so it will be backed up just like the default OneDrive folders, and if so, how? FYI... When I go to OneDrive Settings -> Sync and backup -> Back up important PC folders to OneDrive -> Manage Backup, I am not offered an option to add a folder in addition to the five primary default folders except for those folders under the five primary default folders. Thanks! NAGDT56Views0likes1CommentOnedrive not syncing to file explorer (Windows11)
Hi team, I've recently come across an issue with my one drive suddenly not syncing to my file explorer. I have lost access to viewing my shared documents in file explorer. I can only access my shared files via them default opening in a webpage and not the local file explorer like they used to. I do not have access to change the default program via the "open with" option as I have seen could work - the only option I have is "open" which then opens the webpage. Can anyone help advise how to work around this and regain access to my shared files in file explorer please? Thanks.608Views2likes4CommentsOne Drive not Automatically Signing In with Email
Hi All, I'm having an issue where I'm trying to get One Drive to automatically log in when a user logs into a Windows 10 laptop using Group Policy. The windows laptops have conditional access configured and are hybrid joined, and I have confirmed when running 'dsregcmd /status' I can see "AzureAdJoined : YES". Through our on-premise GPO I've tried configuring Computer>Admin Templates>OneDrive and enabled and disabled the "Silently Sign in User into OneDrive" - with no luck. I've also tried adding the below registry keys. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\OneDrive] “SilentAccountConfig”=dword:00000001. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive] “EnableADAL”=dword:00000001 – This setting enables Modern Authentication for OneDrive. One thing to note is the on-premise UPN is different to that of the o365 email address used to log into MS apps. I would be very interested to know if anyone has managed to get this type of setup to work? No matter what I try, I find I have to launch One Drive manually and go through the setup screen. I enabled some of the other setting like disabling users from configuration folder location etc. with no luck. Any pointers or past experience dealing with this would be appreciated!48Views1like0CommentsChanging plan - What happens to shared links
Hi, I want to know if, when switching from a Microsoft 365 Family subscription to a Personal subscription, my existing OneDrive shared links remain active ? Does the Files and folders i've shared will continue to be accessible to those I've shared them with ? Thanks72Views0likes2CommentsOneDrive for Android: Camera Backup keeps uploading screenshots
Hi all, Every so often when I check OneDrive, I see my Android phone has uploaded screenshots as well as camera photos. In the Android app, when I check the Camera Backup setting, the "Back up device folders" has the setting "Camera, Screenshots" However, when I click that value, and go into the "Organise new backups in subfolders" list, the Screenshots folder is _not_ actually selected as one to be uploaded. If I turn the folder on, then off, OneDrive will temporarily not upload images from my Screenshot folder. But eventually, it decide that again it should do this. How do I make this behaviour stop permanently? P.623Views2likes3CommentsOneDrive link not working once shared
When sharing a video over OneDrive to someone else, once the other person gets the link...it just open the thumbnail and says wait for browser to start downloading..and it just stays this way for infinity. Workaround for this is to create folder, and share the folder instead. Tried same video over google drive it works without issue. This was a problem for me like a year ago. Is there some reason for this?110Views0likes2CommentsOneDrive Context Menu Missing on Windows 11
OneDrive Context menu missing Hi guys, I’m having some issues regarding OneDrive and it’s Context Menu not being present on files. Environment: Windows 11 23H2, Intune managed OneDrive Build: 25.005.0112.30003 (64-bit) Affected users: all I tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet, but none have helped. Devices don’t have issues with synchronization, they only have an issue with the Context Menu missing. I can only see Always Keep on this Device and Free Up Space. Even if I press Show More Options, only the same only two previously mentioned appear. Is there anything else which I could have missed? Why can I not see the 'People' section in Photos on the OneDrive app that is depicted in the following Microsoft support topic titled 'Group photos by people'. The purpose is to enable users to find photos that have particular people in them. Great feature, just can't find it in my OneDrive apps on either my Business or Personal Microsoft 365 services? For a few years i used an university MS-account with 2TB OneDrive storage. Now these cooperation runs out and i made my own MS account with those 1TB OneDrive storage. I have like ~500GB of data in that old OneDrive and right now try to copy everything to my new personal one... But the uploadspeed is horrible! Referring to speedtests I have like 50Mbit/s (Ethernet so quite stable) so ~ like 6.25MB/s upload. The maximum onedrive reaches is like 1.5MB/s.... and in average i get like 750kB/s... My PC is already running for 2 days... Do you have any idea to solve this problem or is this just something i have to accept? Is it possible that institutions like universities have better uploadspeeds, or are just prioritized and so on? Thanks in advance! BR173Views0likes7Comments
