Hi all I've been using Planner for a few weeks, and the KANBAN style 'Board' is FANTASTIC for a particular part of our work, that involves managing complex work packets through our process. I've also browsed this forum a few times, and we have access to the premium Planner version, but I've found the basic has features that premium doesn't. I'm evaluating Planner for use in our dept and organisation, and I'm not sure how stable it will be if we commit to using it right now. The posts on this forum show that features come and go, and reliability is not always good. I'm realistic and dont expect it to be perfect, but there is a minimum level required for us to commit and rely on it. What should people expect over the next few mths and yrs? I've read that there is a "Roadmap", but is that also something that could be scrapped/re-written? What is the level of Microsoft's commitment to Planner, and that "Roadmap"? We want to use it for full project Gantts, not just the KANBAN style 'Board' I mentioned above. But it seems that "Project Online" and the desktop MS Project, are the only way right now for a reliable system for managing multiple projects that have fairly substantial Gantts? Even though Planner is not a new thing, its appears to not have moved far down the development path? We have a GCC client that is growing frustrated by the constraints they continue to encounter with their Planner and Project Plan 3 licensing. Converting basic plans into premium plans isn't available for customers working from a GCC environment Task history is currently not available for customers in GCC There are limited GCC/Planner items found in the roadmap. Can anyone direct me to any sort of update or forecast on functions such as these withing GCC?30Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Planner @Mention and Comment Notification in Microsoft Teams - NEW VERSION
Hi Planner Community, Thank you for the overwhelming support for my original post last year on how to @mention someone within the Microsoft Planner community and have a message automatically emailed to them. I'm excited to share that I've completely redesigned and updated the solution to now support the new Microsoft Teams Planner and remove the issues some users found with setting up the solution. Additionally, the notification is now an adaptive card within the Microsoft Teams chat to the user you @mentioned in the Microsoft Planner comment. Screenshot example above shows a comment posted by me in a Microsoft Planner task where I’ve @mentioned David at the end of the message. Screenshot example above shows the comment posted by me in Planner being automatically sent to David (thanks to the @mention in the comment) on Microsoft Teams. Allowing David to reply in either the traditional Planner or new Teams Planner. Attached is a zip file containing the Microsoft Power Automate solution, along with a detailed walkthrough to help you set it up. Enjoy! If you download the solution, all I ask is that you please give this post a thumbs up. Thanks, everyone! Hi all We have purchased a p1 license (first premium tier) some months ago. Recently, I needed to create a new Planner for a new project. I've noticed that all the premium templates are gone, so i can only use basic ones. The only premium option is the empty template. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? And how did you manage to solve this issue? Thanks in advance!19Views1like1CommentBoost Your Microsoft Planner with Dynamic Labels
If you’re using Microsoft Planner, you already know how useful labels can be for organising tasks. But what if those labels could do more than just colour-code your tasks? We've created an innovative solution that turns Microsoft Planner’s static labels into dynamic ones. With our Dynamic Labels solution, you can automatically assign the right team members to tasks based on the label colour. For example: Pink for Marketing? Automatically assigns your marketing team to the task. Grey for Finance? Your Finance team is instantly added. This streamlined process eliminates manual task assignments, making things more efficient and saving you time. Plus, the solution is easy to install. How to Get Started: Download the solution for free. Follow the included step-by-step guide to install. Customise to suit your needs and start automating task assignments. Any questions let me know! Is this on the roadmap? Our organization is starting to lose the battle of using Planner instead of Trello, pretty much because of the sole feature that Trello allows you to send an email to a specific email address and it will automatically create a Task. It is quite a simple model: Email Subject = Task Title Email Body = Task Description Email Attachments = Task Attachments This would be a massive win for adoption. Looks like this is the entry with the most votes, but there are about 100 of them that individually are asking for the same/similar functionality: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/13076007-ability-to-add-email-as-planner-task218KViews69likes36CommentsAuto Numbering
I'm looking for a way to automatically assign unique identifiers to tasks in Planner, complete with customizable prefixes or suffixes. This would help integrate tasks with other systems by providing a consistent numbering scheme. Is there any built-in functionality or a recommended workaround to set up such an autonumbering system?14Views1like0CommentsMS Planner Plan - Add Admin
How can we add an admin to an existing Planner, lets say in a situation where the only owner is unavailable to add others for some reason. As a SharePoint, Teams , and Exchange Admin, we tried adding a user (same service account who is SPO, EXO, Teams admin) but when we open planner web https://planner.cloud.microsoft/ this Plan isn't listed. We only want to delete this plan and not the related Team or M365 group. Is this a limitation and there is no way an admin can add other users to a Plan? Tried querying the plan via power shell and Graph Explorer but receiving unauthorised error even being an owner of the M365 group and Team that has this plan.25Views0likes0CommentsAdding Baseline Data to new tasks in Planner Premium?
Hey everybody! I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible/how to add Baseline data to tasks added to a premium plan after the Baseline has been set? E.G I set a baseline, and then more Tasks are added, but they generate with no Baseline (understandable) I would like to have new tasks have a Baseline, but I don't want to set a new Baseline as the older tasks need to keep their original baseline dates. any help or suggestions would be fantastic!13Views0likes0Comments
