UPDATE: Fixed in Edge insider Version 79.0.280.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I need to open a custom port for WAC. I can do that with Google Chrome Canary 79 by adding this to the shortcut target: "--explicitly-allowed-ports=6666" and it loads the WAC console just fine. but when I do the same for Edge insider Canary, it won't work and still gives me the unsafe port error. Update 2: users report that the issue is back in Version 80.0.331.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Version 80.0.317.1 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Fixed the issue, which was originating from Sync options. I just updated my Edge insider Canary to Version 80.0.316.0 and it keeps automatically closing itself after every 2-3 minutes. when I was using chrome few years ago, it also had this annoying limitation, now Edge (using latest available Edge canary) still has this problem. when you are downloading and pause your downloads, you can't restart the browser or device without losing your download progress, it will reset. this is really a fundamental problem, I've done my part which was sending feedback through Edge, if you are reading this and want the same thing, please send feedback from your browser and request this to be fixed. thank you4.7KViews7likes1CommentDev Tools and Too much RAM usage
I'm on latest version of Windows 10 and using Edge stable Version 83.0.478.37 (Official build) (64-bit) But, this problem has been happening since few weeks ago which I was using Edge stable version 81. When letting dev tools be open for longer periods of time such as 10 hours, the RAM usage on the system increases substantially. after 10 hours the RAM usage of a single tab which usually uses 700MB goes as high as 4000MB. I have 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I don't do anything special in the Dev tools, I just open it and then use a network throttling preset. this causes instability on the browser, the dev tools UI gets stuck, becomes unresponsive etc. these all happen in long periods of time of Dev tools usage. I've sent this using Feedback button on Edge too.1.9KViews1like3CommentsBug: Omnibox rich entity suggestions flag Not working
This flag: Omnibox rich entity suggestions Display entity suggestions using images and an enhanced layout; showing more context and descriptive text about the entity. – Mac, Windows #omnibox-rich-entity-suggestions has never worked. neither in version 77, 78 nor 79. the expected behavior is this: (as the name says, to show Rich Entity Suggestions) this is from Google Chrome. but what is happening instead is this: Edge does Not show Rich Suggestions.17KViews3likes5CommentsProblem with Pinned Tabs don't stay Pinned after 2 browser Relaunch
Edge insider Version 80.0.315.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Pin a website, close Edge Window (all of it if there is more than 1), relaunch the browser, close it again, now relaunch, the pinned tab is gone.5.5KViews2likes5CommentsProblem with PWA icons on Start menu on Edge dev
When installing a website, such as Instagram, as PWA in Edge dev (Version 88.0.685.3), the Instagram icon appears in the apps list of Start menu, at the top under "recently added" list (not pinned yet). when you drag & drop it on the Start menu to Pin it, it will have a small centered icon. but if you go to edge://apps/ and Pin Instagram's icon from there then Instagram's icon will be in normal big size in the Start menu Left side is big and normal, right side is very small pea-sized icon created by drag & drop. Instagram is one of the websites used as example, the same thing happens to Twitter, YouTube, Bing etc (tried all of them). see if you can reproduce it and send feedback through browser (preferably with "recreate my problem") Windows 10 20H2 latest version5.5KViews1like6CommentsEdge not receiving notifications when closed
This has been going on for months, it actually never worked and despite many posts from other users, it wasn't put on the feedback list to be fixed. I tried sending several feedbacks through browser as well in the last months. I hope someone manually give this a higher priority. here is the Chrome article about this: https://developers.google.com/web/ilt/pwa/introduction-to-push-notifications "Push messaging lets developers engage users by providing timely and customized content outside the context of the web page. It is one of the most critical APIs to come to the web, giving users the ability to engage with web experiences even when the browser is closed, without the need for a native app install." Currently Edge canary is Version 81.0.406.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) all the related flags (native notifications etc etc) are all tested and they have no effects.Solved12KViews6likes29Comments
