Hi, I have a client and a leadership team that is bought-in to engagement, data-driven, and ambitious to do more. Tech industry, gone from start-up to 500 employees so starting to mature. They have been doing their own insights but have now sought after external consultant to provide more external viewpoints for inspiration and additional insights. Here are some topics that came up in the scoping session with HR Engagement trends in general, how are the scores shifting (slightly downwards?) and why? I have the “modern approach to measuring engagement” mentioning the revamp of the people success elements post-COVID so I can use some snippets from that. But does someone have a slide summarising it nicely rather than in text/article? Any other trends in the last year? The client has a focus on being great at hybrid working so would be good to see if anyone has done work with companies and the link between engagement and hybrid The client is still privately owned, small-ish (500 people) and one current challenge is their mixed comms about exit plan - when it could happen as most employees have equity. Interestingly very low employee attrition, although scores are declining (still high scores however). Possibly waiting for payout? If there are some materials on smaller companies who are privately owned where employees have equity and how to deal with comms in that environment Any specific trends on tech companies They use top 10th percentile benchmark, but since scores are declining, there are some gaps that are quite big. If someone has experience of “downgrading” to a lower benchmark, e.g. global mean, and how to position that. They don’t want to look like they’re dodging ambitions. I said a way to do it could maybe to include both – baseline and ambition. Any case studies/best practice on actions that worked on Prospects, Comms, Confidence in Sen. Leadership Much appreciated. Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated impressive capabilities on various data-related tasks, but they still have some limitations. One of them is the ability to generate effective visualizations from structured data sources such as CSV or Excel files. In this article, we will explore a new framework that addresses this challenge by combining LLMs with Granular Data. The framework is called LIDA, and it was recently open-sourced by Microsoft. LIDA is a powerful library that enhances the interaction between LLMs and Granular Data, enabling richer and more expressive data analysis and visualization.6.5KViews0likes1CommentCybersecurity Talent Gap in the Age of AI: New Research
AI is revolutionizing cybersecurity. As AI technology capabilities advance so to does the need for defense capabilities for organizations. Yet, beyond the algorithms and data models, there's an urgent need for human talent. In fact, more than 4 million cybersecurity jobs are available globally. There simply aren't enough people globally to fill the open cybersecurity jobs. Earlier this month, together with the OECD, Microsoft Philanthropies launched a capstone report on cybersecurity skills. This was a final report in a series of three reports examining the urgent demand for cybersecurity skills, this time focused on France, Poland and Germany. Microsoft Philanthropies GM of Digital Inclusion and Community Engagement, Naria Santa Lucia joined a conversation to discuss the report findings with Assistant Deputy General of the OECD, Stefano Scarpetta , head of Economy and Social Protection for the OECD, Despina Spanou from the European Communication and our NGO partners ReDI School of Digital Integration and Instytut Kościuszki to help fill the talent gap. See Naria's recap of the event here, and access the full suite of OECD reports here: https://www.oecd.org/skills/building-a-skilled-cyber-security-workforce.htm. This is a part of a larger Cybersecurity Skills Initiative committment we at Microsoft Philanthropies have to closing the global cybersecurity skills gap. As a company, we continue to invest in new solutions for nonprofits such as Account Guard and general AI cybersecurity solutions such as Microsoft Copilot for Security, which will be generally available on April 1! How are your organizations adapting to the key trends in cybersecurity for the sector? Let us know! I hope you were able to join the Microsoft Viva Summit and spot various insights through the keynote and breakout sessions that highlight the importance of engagement and productivity as conditions which drive business success! In parallel with this event, a new Work Trend Index Special Report was published. After both of these moments, I'm feeling super inspired by the impact we can have on our businesses by focusing on our people first. What about these insights jumped out at or inspired you today?Integration with OneNote 'Linked notes' feature?
Before Internet Explorer is completely retired, has there been any discussion about Edge not currently working with the "Linked Notes" feature of OneNote 2016 / 365 (on Windows)? (from the above link): Note: Another way to take linked notes is to click Dock to Desktop on the View tab in OneNote 2010. The current OneNote page will be docked to the side of the Windows desktop, where it will stay visible while you use other programs. Any notes that you take in the docked OneNote window will be linked to their context. (This external site also contains a good basic introduction.) I'm not sure if this requires engineering work from the Edge team, the OneNote team, or both. (Perhaps it might share underlying infrastructure with the 'Ink web page' feature in Edge.) - Jim P.S. There are unresolved requests for this in other channels, so it's not just me looking for this to be restored.3.1KViews1like1Comment
