I've been testing and using this feature for as long as the new Edge has been around, without parallel downloading flag (edge://flags/#enable-parallel-downloading), the download speed is unbelievably slow, with the flag enabled, it's only slightly better. I don't know how many concurrent connections Edge makes to the download server with this flag on, but it's very broken. for example, download speed of a file in Edge is only 500 KB/s with parallel downloading on, with a download manager like Free Download Manager, the speed is 10x faster. I'm aware that this is depended on the network conditions of each user and my experience can't be universal and experienced by everyone, but the simply fact that a download manager with 6 to 8 concurrent (parallel) connections can fully utilize my Internet bandwidth, and Edge can't do this, is a problem. this is not something to be fixed with a simple browser reinstall or even related to OS. throughout the past 2 years I've done these countless times, literally. I'm sending feedback about it using the feedback button on Edge, if you're reading this and want download speed to be improved in Edge, please do the same and in the feedback URL add the link to this post for full description, thank you24KViews7likes10CommentsWhat to Kill first when things get slow?
It is not rare for things to start to feel slow on my PC. When they do, I go to task manager and start killing the resource hogs like Edge and Teams. I do not know if it really helps. Does it? Do guidelines exist for handling tasks when my PC starts to feel slow?Solved1.5KViews1like4CommentsSlow tab closing
When I try to close tabs when other tabs are still loading there is a noticeable delay between when I hit Ctrl+w/ click x and when the tab closes. From what I can tell it seems that closing a tab requires cpu and when usage is high, it has to wait for space to open up. Has anyone else noticed this issue or have any solutions?4.3KViews4likes4CommentsBottom Download bar lag 4-5sec
See the green progress bar in the edge icon has already started but download bar is not appearing yet there is aleast 4-5 sec lag which is not tolerable(400-500ms is OK). To reproduce this lag try downloading a file from OneDrive/Google Drive with a bunch of tabs. (*I have not closed the downloads bar) (*In built gamebar doesnot record the taskbar and I donot want to waste time in installing a screen recorder because it is very easy to reproduce)6.2KViews0likes24CommentsLastPass Vault is slow as a turtle
I've got over 300 passwords and login entries in my Lastpass Vault, opening it in Edge slows down the browser to a point that each scroll has 2 seconds delay, it's painfully annoying. the CPU usage doesn't even go that high.
