5 Topics[Solved] Display Version number into excel files from SharePoint WITHOUT turning into Macro enabled?
[Partially Solved] Apparently, the easiest way is to do a flow automation, that can update a row in Excel ======================= I've managed to put version number in all docx files, but I haven't found a solution online to display the current file version in an excel file that's displayed on the SharePoint libaray. I've found posts about creating VB codes, but that will turn all excel files into Macro enabled versions which is what we try to avoid. Can anyone share any thoughts or point me to the right direction please, thank you1.2KViews0likes1CommentVersion and UIVersionString Label are not always the same
I recently setup the manual UIVersionString Label so that the version of documents can be shown inside a document file from a SharePoint library. However I have found despite doing this, the label doesn't always show the correct version and is sometimes a couple of versions behind. What can cause this?1.4KViews0likes0CommentsAutomatically add information in document header
Hey everyone, I'm new to this an we think about using sharepoint as a document-managing software in our small company. I have an important question that will decide if we are going to use the software or not. I hope someone can help me with this... Is it possible, that sharepoint automatically adds informations like "creator of the document", "Version", "Date of creation", "file path", "confirmation by" on word, excel and power point documents? Maybe in the header of a document? I know softwares that are able to do it, like the german Babtec solution. Thank you very much for your help! Hi All, I did some research on how versioning works during co-authoring and found the following from this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-does-versioning-work-in-a-sharepoint-list-or-library-0f6cd105-974f-44a4-aadb-43ac5bdfd247 When versioning is enabled, versions are created in the following situations: During co-authoring of a document, when a different user begins working on the document or when a user clicks save to upload changes to the library. However, I found that's not necessary the case from our testing which the results show that only one version was created while two users were co-authoring on the same document on a browser (which autosaves the document). I was just wondering whether anyone of you have any information in regards to how often does a version get created when two or more users are co-authoring on the same document. Does it create a new version when it detects the document was last edited by an user during co-authoring or it indeed does what the official MS site claims above. Thank you for your help in advance.Solved1.1KViews0likes1CommentHow to display latest document set version number?
From what I know about SharePoint (and that is just the basics), Document sets have two types of versioning. One is version (major, minor style) that is common to Document and Document Set, while the other is used to make snapshots of Documents versions within (see attached picture with these version numbers in a red block). In a view that lists the items in a library I am able to display the first one (column named Version), but I see no way to display the other. Am I missing something?
