Does SharePoint Classic sites support Sensitivity Labels?
Hi there, I am implementing Sensitivity Labels for an organization. They have a couple of SharePoint Classic sites that are required to be labelled. These sites have the old UI and as a result have no Site Information option to choose a label. Does anyone know if we can apply a label to classic sites from Admin Center or using PowerShell?Rohit YadavMar 12, 2025Bronze Contributor15Views0likes2CommentsPurview Message Encryption - Broken Icon
The lock image url referenced in the "has sent you a protected message" email is invalid. Image source: https://outlook.office365.com/Encryption/lock.png I can confirm this was last working on 2/12/2025. Messages sent on 2/12 and today 3/6 reference the same url. This is not a case of the image being blocked by the mail client. I have tasked with creating retention policies to delete Exchange online emails older than 5 years. I also have a requirement to create another policy that will delete emails older than 7 years and apply that to a small number of users. We started this process by creating a policy that applied to everyone and deleted emails older than 10 years. That is currently running and seems to be working. Our next step is to go to the 5 and 7 year policies. What is the best practice to be used in this situation? Is it as simple as applying the 5 year policy to the entire organization and excluding the small group? Shold I be applying a policy to the entire organization (mailboxes, shared mailboxes, etc.)? Can't afford to get this wrong and lose 2 years of email for the select few.Bixby1960Mar 11, 2025Copper Contributor58Views0likes1CommentLooking for Excel macro files alternatives for tablets
Hi, Recently, I created Excel files with macros on Windows in order to be completed by people. It has all features I need : protection, data verification, full protection after data completion and saving in the correct folder. I have been asked : Is it working on Mac and on tablets ? The answer found is : macros cannot be executed on Android and IOS, and they need modifications to be run successfully on Mac (I take the simple case of the paths). In the case of investing money in tablets to be used easily, Android and IOS, according to your experience, what is the best way to have people completing data with the requirements (see below) ? My preference goes to Excel as data can be used for graphics and data analysis, unfortunately Excel macro files cannot be used on tablets... I am opened to other applications and softwares. Requirements : people can enter data and correct it without modifying the document after completing yes to the question : Data are complete ? Data cannot be modified Data can be modified only by authorized people only Data can be viewed by everybody It needs to be usable offline, in case of internet disruption Data completed may be assessed directly when entered (for example a person has written 10 and the number is maximum 8, a "non-conform" in red appears) Thank you for your answersTamsMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor5Views0likes0CommentsRestrict Fabric Asset Access using Purview Sensitivity Labels
I am working on this scenario, I tried but the sensitivity labels do not allow access control in Fabric, I was also thinking of using Power automate flow to change access to the reports with applied labels, but couldn't figure out how. Scenario : 1. Create confidential label in purview, make these labels available to users to apply to reports, users apply those label to fabric reports. 2. Report that is attached with confidential label should be only available to (lets say) DataGovernance group. No other members outside this groups should be able to receive, share or edit the report. 3. Report that is attached with general label, should be available for everyone in the organization who has access to fabric Has anyone ever tried this in purview and fabric.tomarMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor20Views0likes1CommentPurview Glossary Terms

We wanted to manage the creation/modification/deletion events of retention policies and labels in Sentinel. Currently, these events are not being sent to a Purview connector in Sentinel. We would like these events to be sent via a Purview connector in Sentinel. In comparison, the creation/modification/deletion events of conditional access policies are sent to Sentinel, allowing us to generate alerts when detected by Sentinel. How can we request this feature?mcsaulnierMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor36Views3likes1CommentEnhancing Microsoft Purview with Integrated Carbon Emission Metrics for Data Storage
Currently, Microsoft Purview doesn't display the carbon emissions associated with storing individual datasets. However, by integrating Purview with Microsoft's sustainability tools, such as the Emissions Impact Dashboard, we can estimate these emissions. Implementing resource tagging enables more detailed tracking of resource usage and associated emissions. While this integration provides valuable insights, the carbon emission data would be accessible through external reporting tools rather than being directly displayed within Purview. It would be beneficial to suggest to Microsoft the development of a feature that integrates carbon emission metrics directly into Purview's data catalogue, promoting greater awareness and accountability regarding the environmental impact of data storage. Hello, I am testing a confidential label with various settings, so far it works fantastically. When applying the [Confidential] label to a word file it works. However when I turn that Word document into a PDF and try to view it I am presented with the following screen: I input my email that also has an Acrobat Pro license and proceed. Then I am presented with the following login: When I press continue, quite literally, nothing happens. It just seems to get stuck in the login screen. Additionally if I do "open with" to the file I can view it normall on Microsoft Edge.axel-tcMar 07, 2025Copper Contributor30Views0likes2Comments
