Hello, I am testing a confidential label with various settings, so far it works fantastically. When applying the [Confidential] label to a word file it works. However when I turn that Word document into a PDF and try to view it I am presented with the following screen: I input my email that also has an Acrobat Pro license and proceed. Then I am presented with the following login: When I press continue, quite literally, nothing happens. It just seems to get stuck in the login screen. Additionally if I do "open with" to the file I can view it normall on Microsoft Edge.30Views0likes2CommentsPurview - DLP license question
Hi all, I’m a little confused about the difference in features between M365 E3 and M365 E5. If I’m on E3, and I’m looking to monitor and stop PII date such as credit card information or bank account numbers from being sent out via email, will this data need to be manually labelled? Or can i add those sensitive data types as a conditional filter in my DLP policy? e.g. my DLP conditions will be to check for credit card data and block the action. Will this work with E3? Does DLP scan for PII during transit or is that an E5 feature. Secondly, my encrypted emails ask me to download the information protection viewer. Is that all E3 feature? I’m looking to get the encryption which lets user authenticate via One time code. Is that e5? thanks!487Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft Purview Best Practices

Currently, I have a requirement to mask sensitive data and information in file formats such as Word, Excel, TXT, and PDF for all employees in the company. Based on the documentation I have read, solutions like DLP or IP in Microsoft Purview only support monitoring or encrypting these files but do not provide an action to mask data. Is it feasible to mask sensitive data using Microsoft DLP Purview?104Views0likes3CommentsInbound Sensitive Information
Hello All, We currently have some DLP policies to restrict Financial Data, HIPPA, and PII data from leaving our org. However, is there a way to restrict this type of sensitive data from being sent into the org? For example, an external address sends some sensitive data to a specific mailbox. Can a DLP policy be created to block that data from reaching a specific mailbox and reply back the email was blocked due to the content? Thanks for any info!Solved248Views0likes4CommentsOnboarding Devices: "No authenticated user found"
Hi, I am looking to onboard a device in Purview for the purpose of testing some Endpoint DLP policies. I have ran the onboarding script locally and the device successfully appears on the 'Devices' screen. 'Real time protection/RTP' and 'Behavior monitoring/BM' both show as 'enabled' with a green tick, however under 'Valid User' it has a red cross and states: "Invalid: No authenticated user found. Without proper authentication, data classification is impeded. To ensure precise validation, we recommend re-onboarding to Active Directory". The device is in active directory. I have signed into the device with an account that is also in Active Directory. Is there anything additional that I need to do? Any help would be really appreciated - thank you!!!Solved338Views2likes4CommentsPurview DLP Override Email Notification for Admins
We know that our admins can go into the alerts in Purview and see if a user has chosen to override a DLP policy, but is there a way to set up email notification to individuals when a user clicks Override in the policy tip and chooses to override the block? So, in the attached "Override window.png" file, once they click the Override button, security admins are alerted via email immediately?417Views0likes2CommentsDLP policy tips differ between Outlook desktop and OWA
Is it expected behavior that the policy tips we get in an Outlook desktop message are different than the policy tips we get in an Outlook web message? We have a DLP policy set up for SSNs, targeting the Exchange location right now, and policy tips are enabled. I've attached images, but in Outlook desktop, we get two lines in the policy tip and in Outlook web we get four lines in the policy tip. Please advise. Is this expected or is something wonky?121Views0likes0CommentsDLP and OneDrive Shorcuts
I created a simple DLP in Purview as a test just to find a particular word and to block access to the document. Just as a test in sim mode for now. I can access the document from SharePoint and get a pop up notification which I set that tells me its contain this word. I can also access it from OneDrive online and get the popup. But if I use the OneDrive shorcut to SharePoint which opens the document In Word desktop I do not get any popup. The DLP policy is set for SharePoint and OneDrive. Will this not work for shorcuts.
