Exchange admin center Delegation permissions error
I am having a strange issue with Exchange Admin Centre
I am signed in as a Global Administrator but when I go to a user's mailbox and then to the delegation tab I get the following error.
Failed to get mailbox permissions
Error:
User is not allowed to call Get-MailboxPermission
Is this a bug? I wouldn't think it was a permissions issue as I have been fine for years with my current ones.
I ended up fixing this issue by contacting Microsoft Support and after multiple screen share sessions with multiple technicians it ended up being an issue on Microsofts end, Admin permissions were not being correctly applied to the Admin user. They fixed it on their end and it has been fine since.

Could you please share the ticket number or the fix they applied for so that for those whom are also are facing this issue could address it quickly?
It takes weeks, if not a month for them to zero in on the case and realize what the fix is and this would be EXTREMELY helpful.
Thank you!
- JoeZ_HFCCCopper ContributorThey had us add admins to the Recipient Management Role, and it did fix that issue. However, there are other oddities going on as I mentioned below, as now, the other Global Admin in my organization and I can no longer do anything to create Mail Flow Rules. The Add button is gone. I can edit an existing rule, but there is nothing there to create new rules. Don't understand any of this for a person who is a Global Admin. Somewhere, Microsoft is messing up Role Assignments and Rights
- JonathanT515Copper ContributorHello,
Did you figure out how to fix this?
Thanks!- Jimmy-StuffinsCopper ContributorPlease see my latest comment.

Jimmy-Stuffins I am having the exact same error for going on a month now. Two other users in my environment were having the exact same problem. One user's errors just mysteriously went away just like they started. Another user's disappeared after he cleared his cache. Mine still remain regardless of browser, onsite or offsite, and in the gui or in powershell.
- Jimmy-StuffinsCopper ContributorI have had two Microsoft Support Tech's have a look and they are stumped; the last one took some screen shots so hopefully it gets escalated.

Jimmy-Stuffins I've had one doing screenshots, and nothing. It usually takes days before I hear anything. God forbid you miss their call, you're done . Anyway, they had another admin remove my Global Administrator rights, wait at least 15 minute and add them back. No luck there either, but it's something to try. It doesn't seem like it should be this difficult. You see lots of posts with this problem, it seems incredibly difficult to fix. It happens out of the blue for no reason, and I'm at over a month with no resolution.
- Can you run Get-MailboxPermission via PowerShell?
- Jimmy-StuffinsCopper ContributorNo I get the following error
The term 'Get-MailboxPermission' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet
I have the right modules installed too
