Dataverse and Data Quality
Good afternoon all,
I hope this is the right place for this, when will Dataverse data be available for DQ assessments? I tried looking online but couldn't find anything.
This is the message I get when I try to scan Dataverse Tables
and is that connector any different than what the Microsoft Learn platform suggests?
Data quality in Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog | Microsoft Learn
Kind regards,
Emil
Hello EmilW1220,
Per my understanding, I don't think you can directly create a connection to dataverse for data quality assessment. Microsoft Purview Data source connection for data quality assessment | Microsoft Learn
However, you can use shortcut for referencing to data that is stored in Dataverse.
Data quality for fabric Lakehouse data estate | Microsoft Learn
I could not find a straightforward step by step instructions for the same. But refer to this for creating a dataverse shortcut https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/onelake/onelake-shortcuts#dataverse-shortcuts.
Once it is created, you can try the following
- Preview the shortcut in your Fabric workspace.
- Start a scan of your Dataverse resource in the Microsoft Purview Data Map using service principal authentication.
- Once the scan is finished, your data asset should appear in Unified Catalog.
- Associate the asset with a data product for curation and data quality assessment.
- Open the Microsoft Purview Data Quality solution and run a data quality scan or profile your data.
Hope this helps!
