This or That Quizzes are AWFUL!
The This or That quizzes are horrendous for several reasons.
First, you punish the user for wrong answers. No other quiz you have punishes the user.
Second, they are long and arduous. The user has to spend a ton of time looking up the answers.
Third, they have wrong answers. Today's, for example, the book length one, had several wrong answers according to several sources.
Fourth, they are boring. Nothing interesting in them.
Fifth, they can be non-specific. Again, today's terrible book length quiz was not specific about what type of book. Do you mean hard cover or paperback?
Please, is there any way to get these terrible quizzes replaced with something better?
Thank you.

I concur. Sometimes the answers are not accurate. I've pointed that out now 2x to Rewards Support. For example, today = city populations. The question was not specific enough, so it can be open to variances. In this case, was it just the city or metro. BING pulled up old data on some cities and others 2020.
The quiz creator needs to double check for accuracy, otherwise, don't penalize people, just have it for fun. The other option is to have a quiz that has an absolute answer. If there are variances, that's not good.- HeyU-notU-UIron Contributor

Yet, another, terrible and tedious This or That quiz. Several of the questions had more than one answer that is correct. Of course, This or That being so terrible, it penalizes the user for a correct answer. Once more Microsoft is not listening (yes, I provided feedback via the Feedback button). Seems to me Microsoft is no longer interested in what their community of supporters have to say.
From now on, I'm using Google to look for the answers. No need to give Bing any additional clicks since they penalize us unnecessarily.

Hi HeyU-notU-U, as I've addressed in this thread before, the best way to obtain the answers for the quiz is to use Bing, since the answers are based on the Bing search results.
Thank you for continuing to submit feedback while things don't change overnight each piece of feedback delivered to our Microsoft Rewards Team shapes how they think about the Quizzes they publish.
While I understand your frustrations about this situation, I've reviewed how to best answer This or That Quiz questions and how to properly submit feedback. As this thread is turning into more of a complaint thread, I'm going to lock it down. Please continue to reach out to Rewards support for these situations, as that would be the correct channel to support this. Thanks for understanding!

Alyxe Any word from the team on these terrible quizzes? Today's was the most boring yet. The This or That quizzes are the worst part of Microsoft Rewards and the worst part about Bing. Please tell them to stop. Thank you!

Hello HeyU-notU-U, I've provided the Microsoft Rewards Quiz team with the feedback I've collected on the This or That quizzes. While I understand your frustration, the best option you have is to submit feedback. Every time a piece of feedback is submitted through Microsoft Rewards Support it is reviewed and cataloged.
Best,

Hi Alyxe. Thank you for the update. I do and have been providing feedback, however, it is a black hole. No responses and no action. As I mentioned to Rae_Rae Microsoft wants us to provide clicks for Bing. They should not penalize us for helping by providing those clicks. Just stop penalizing and we can forget all about this.

HeyU-notU-U Alyxe Also, some of the quizes arent com[lety correct. Some ones arent in montreal and are still corect. ::;

Deleted "In Montreal?" Which "this or that" are you doing? Can you give the question or date you came across this, please? You bring up a good question (for me)... I wonder if the 'daily sets' are the same for EVERYONE around the world at the same time... Today's (12/10/2020) 'this or that' is: "Which 20th-century event took place more recently?" Which, for some reason, gets STUCK (along with the "word for word" category) after completing them.

- HeyU-notU-UIron ContributorYet another bad This or That quiz. Another wrong answer and we are penalized for putting in the correct answer. It had which metro area has a NFL team. Nashville or Oakland. Well, the correct answer is Nashville (Tennessee Titans. The Oakland Raiders are now in Las Vegas). This or That said Nashville is incorrect. Wrong! And no points. Ugh! @Alyxe, please tell them to stop these quizzes! Thank you!
- KamSilver ContributorHeyU-notU-U Seems like you're lying, today I did the quiz, and Tennesee Titans was correct.
- Rae_RaeSteel Contributor
Kam Oh, and for the record, I press the back button JUST so I can REDO the current choice. Only to have it come up as wrong AGAIN. This way, I can take the screenshot of the 'wrong' answer (which IS ACTUALLY the correct one). . And guess what! I get ANOTHER 'wrong,' and in doing so, it minuses ANOTHER five points! So, yeah- "This or That" quizzes ARE awful (at times).
- HeyU-notU-UIron ContributorWell, I didn't think the This or That quiz could get worse, but today's hit the bottom. Terrible. Please...any way to get them stopped? Thank you.

HeyU-notU-U The This or That quizzes are relatively new and our Microsoft Rewards team is interested in all feedback related to this quiz. I've shared the feedback you've given in this forum with them, but they'll be able to get a good sense of the difficulties you're having if you submit feedback through the official paths that I've listed above.
I appreciate you sharing your feedback here and starting a forum-wide discussion for all to participate in. I'm excited to see what else you bring to this community.Alyxandria (she/her)

Hey HeyU-notU-U, I appreciate you sharing your opinion here about the Microsoft Rewards This or That quiz. I can see where you're coming from and have provided our Microsoft Rewards team with the feedback you shared.
I try to do the morning set every day, sometimes that's easier said than done, for sure! I've found luck choosing the correct answer for the This or That quiz by using Microsoft Bing. For example, in the "Which book is longer" quiz from yesterday one of the questions asked about Dracula. My search was "how many pages is Dracula" and this was my result:
When I used this answer to inform my decision, I got the correct answer. If you do come across an answer that's incorrect our Microsoft Rewards team would like to know so that they can fix that as quickly as possible. You can always submit feedback through our Microsoft Rewards Support.

Community Manager - Bing Insiders- Rae_RaeSteel ContributorWhat would you suggest to put as the "Issue title," please? And, how do you add the screenshots, please?
- Alyxe
Microsoft
Hi Rae_Rae, that's a great question. If you're submitting feedback on a quiz, I would suggest the name of the quiz and the date. Otherwise, you'd want to pick something that sums up the issue you're having. On the Microsoft Rewards feedback website, you cannot upload photos. However, if someone needs more information they may ask you for screenshots at that time.

Alyxe thanks for your response, I do appreciate it. I hope you are well.
I have been providing feedback at least twice a week for quite a while now. Nothing changes and the quizzes seem to get worse. They are just not a good idea. They are boring and arduous. They are also not well written.
ESPECIALLY with the punishment feature. Isn't the whole idea of the daily sets, etc. to increase engagement and generate clicks? (from the Microsoft point of view). Well, why not give us the points anyway even with a wrong choice just like every other quiz?
Thanks and hope you have a good Thanksgiving.
- HalvyFore38Copper ContributorYou look up answers? Thought these were all just top of the head type questions.
- HeyU-notU-UIron Contributor
HalvyFore38 Yes, since they punish users for missing an answer (unlike any other quiz), I look them up.
