Edge Canary Show Icon Only resets on restart
A minor annoyance to be sure, but as often as Canary updates it's a pain to have to reset the favorites in the bar to show icon only every time I have to restart.
I have begun experiencing this issue in the Dev channel. My version is 112.0.1722.11. Is there a workaround or fix for this yet?
- Same exact problem, quite frustrating how it resets after every time I simply exit the browser not even restart my computer.
- Seems to be fixed for me on 113.0.1751.0
- As of Version 113.0.1746.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) this seems to have been fixed. At least it is for me.
Dennis5mile- Unfortunately not for me on that version of Canary. In fact it is now happening in the Dev Build as well on 1722.11
Still present on my end on 113.0.1732.0 as well. I can also confirm it happens to new favorites added to the bar that get set to show icon only.
- I also have this, still there currently on v1722, but it was there on the two previous versions. I run Prod, Dev and Canary on the same PC - the favourites are synced across all three and they show only the icon on the other two browsers. As someone else asked a toggle for all icon text on/off would be great.

- Thanks for sharing that info. Just to verify, the show favorites button in the toolbar is disabled on restart, correct? Also, what operating system are you running?
Any of the favorites in the favorites bar (set to always on) that are set to "Show Icon Only" revert to showing text on restart. Otherwise, all the other favorites functionality is unaffected.
I am running Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.1344 (it started doing it on the previous build before Tuesday's feature update to the current build).

The behavior is still present in 112.0.1713.0.
As an additional point of information in case it helps track down issues, I also use Edge stable on a different laptop as well as Edge mobile on my phone and have Favorites synced.
Still reproducible on 112.0.1713.0.
The feature itself is working fine but '"show_icon": true,' entry is lost in profile_directory/Bookmarks file.
Adding that entry manually (before edge launched) displays icon-only-favorite but it vanished when any favorite is updated/modified.Are you still seeing this behavior in the latest Canary release 112.0.1710.0? To check what build you're on enter edge://settings/help in the address bar.
