Bring back the website permission for sound
Previously, the permission for websites to play sound was hidden behind a flag in edge://flags that enables this to show in settings. Weird that they would hide this, considering it's built into Chromium and therefore built into Chrome and all Chromium browsers by default, but okay, whatever. Now this feature is completely removed from the browser. Not actually removed from its internals, it's still visibly grandfathered in to some websites that I gave sound permission that show up when I search sound in settings, but there is literally no way to alter their sound permissions anymore. What's up with this? This is a terrible change. I came to Edge for the not-being-Google, I stayed because it's a great browser with great features, and I will leave if you remove basic features that are literally built into Chromium for the sake of being different.
Web Speech API stopped working on Edge starting with v.134
Starting with version 134 of the Edge Browser (Windows 10, Edge Stable Version 134.0.3124.51, released March 6, 2025), the functionality of speech recognition (WebSpeechAPI) has been broken. This issue potentially impacts millions of users. Requests to Microsoft servers return a "Network error." Since Edge 134 I'm no longer able to turn off security network. Security network seems to disappear from the settings and enabled by default, which makes me unable to access local services. I found this because I see my ISP becoming "Cloudflare", instead of my real network provider. You can access https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to see your ISP, if it's showing "Cloudflare" you are a victim. Please fix it ASAP otherwise I will have to switch to Chrome.
[Error] Can't find variable: logMutedMessage On Edge Mobile.
1. Environment: browser.name: Edge Mobile browser: Edge Mobile 116.0.1938 device: iPhone os: iOS 16.6 2. The reproduction steps: Set the iPhone to battery-saving mode. Open this page(https://campaign.nbilly.naver.com/clova-for-writing-with-smarteditor) on Edge Mobile. Attempt to touch the play button of the background video. 3. Problem: "ReferenceError: Can't find variable: logMutedMessage" error reported to my Sentry. --- It seems to be a bug in Edge Mobile, but I couldn't find anything related to it even when I searched here with the keyword logMutedMessage. Scrolling very slow when mouse hovering over Edge browser
My scrolling speed very slow when mouse hover over edge and back normal when i click the browser. New to edge browser, usually using chrome and scrolling speed never change when i click on browser or just hover over it. Is there a setting to disable or change that ?The official place to report bugs
I am a user of the beta version of Edge on Linux. From time to time, I encounter bugs that I’d like to report. After some searching, this forum is the closest I have found to a bug tracker. So I was wondering whether there’s a dedicated place for reporting bugs or should I just post here?Printing the PDF cuts-off the bottom
When printing a pdf using MS edge cuts-off the bottom portion of each page. This behavior happens even if I use a large margin. So, definitely it's not an issue with the margin. I tried Firefox, and issue was not there. Firefox was able to print the whole page properly even without any margin. I also tried same PDF to print via phone - No issues. So, definitely it's not an issue with the printer. Culprit is definitely MS Edge. Page: A4 Printer: Cannon Pixma E470Issue Report - Netflix Seek Inaccurate
Hey, There's an issue with Netflix's seek function where it never jumps to the exact timestamp. Instead, it's always off by a few hundred milliseconds to a few seconds. This happens both when using Netflix's `±10s` buttons and when calling their seek API. The issue is most consistent on Edge (happens 100% of the time), but some Chrome users (especially on macOS) have reported it too. Other video platforms don't seem to have this problem, so it looks like something specific to Netflix+Edge combo. **Steps to Reproduce:** - Open Netflix in Edge - Play any video - Try seeking with the built-in `±10s` buttons - Notice that it never lands exactly where it should. **Why This Matters:** We're building an extension that helps users navigate subtitles smoothly and record them, so accurate seeking is a big deal for us. This issue makes things frustrating for our users, especially when trying to jump to a specific subtitle. Would love to know if this is something related to how Edge handle video playback.
Co-Pilot in Edge 'Attempting to reconnect...'
I have two Office 365 work accounts. I have each of them setup in separate Edge profiles, signed in to the browser to sync Edge settings. If I open the Co-Pilot sidebar, it says 'Attempting to reconnect...'. I also have a personal hotmail account, I also have a separate Edge profile for it, logged in to Edge with it to sync settings, and it has never had this issue. I can resolve this temporarily by deleting the BFB cookie from Bing.com (see screenshot), refreshing the copilot sidebar session, and re-logging in, however the next day the issue is back. My first work profile had been having the issue all along, the second work profile is new, and I only recently set it up, and within a day, it started having the issue. If anyone has a more permanent solution, that would be appreciated.
Edge won't start in Ubuntu
The MS-Edge icon just appears on the dock, but the browser is not seen, and after a while the icon also goes away. Tried to open through the terminal. This is what I get. I would like to suggest adding a feature to Microsoft Edge that allows users to hide distracting items on a webpage, similar to Safari's Distraction Control feature. This feature would enhance the browsing experience by enabling users to focus on the main content without unnecessary distractions. If there is one already, please let me know. I have been using the CoPilot Preview every single day for HOURS every morning, it teaches me how to use Power Query, Excel and Power BI. I have come to heavily rely on its ability to speak answers back to me when I click the Microphone button. As of yesterday, it is no longer speaking answers back to me, I can only read the replies. Is there a fix, a way to reinstall, ANYTHING I can do? On 23H2 build 22631.2792 Thanks, JF
Edge randomly gets reset and logs me out of every site
Hello, I need help, since some month, Edge automatically randomly resets and logs me out of every site. This always happens when the PC starts up, I launch the browser and Edge has just reset itself and shows me the following screen It keeps my account synchronised, my passwords and my favourites, but I have to log in again on all the sites.
