I noticed in the newer versions of edge collections "Start to collect" - After searching I've found this to be a very bad addition to collections. Collections actually got me away from pocket but wi...

Microsoft apparently does not listen to its customers, i.e., take customer feedback seriously. Nobody wants Start to Collect in Edge except for the person responsible for shoving it down our throats. We don't need an option to disable it; we don't need it all! I've gone back to Chrome.

I hear you. I get that people use Edge in various ways, and they use different parts of it. I don't see any harm in having an on/off toggle like they do for lots of other features. Better to do that, than to alienate swathes of users.

I think they may have disabled this. When I open Collections in Edge now (version 115.0.1901.203), I no longer see the "Start To Collect" garbage in the window. It's still forced over to the sidebar and not a fly-out window as it used to be (and still is with enterprise Microsoft accounts), but it's a start. Too bad I already migrated to Pocket.

Richard_Bottiglieri I had a look - if I sign in with a personal account I get "Start to collect". If I sign in with a work account (or don't sign in at all) I don't - I wasn't getting it with a work account on build 200 (my current client's laptop build), and did the side by side test on build 203 (my own)
