I can add any external M365 user to a Live event?!

Question

I just tried to add some external users to a Teams Live event and it works just fine. These users are no guests at the Tenant and no federation was negotiated with the domain. Is that a normal behaviour? Why would I create guest users if it's possible without it?

Hi&nbsp;Thomsch&nbsp;, I thought you just had to add them as a guest user in your tenant if they didn't have an Office 365 account themselves?&nbsp;

DaithiG&nbsp;I'm trying all possible options here. And since the guest user path is not working, I found out that I actually don't need a guest account at all.

Hi&nbsp;Thomsch&nbsp;I think this thread might have gotten a little off-track from your original question.&nbsp; You're correct that you don't need to create guest accounts - you just send the attendee invitation* link to whomever you want to invite to the event, and make sure the permissions are set correctly (see doc below).
