Teams Polls - Where are the results (by name of respondent)?

I've created a Poll (via Forms) as a post in a channel for my Team. The card created for the poll states, "Results are visible to everyone; Names recorded", however, I cannot for the life of me figure out who submitted responses - can't find where these names are recorded. Anyone know how to get this info? Otherwise it's just a completely anonymous poll.

Thanks,

Bob

I had also been looking all over for my poll/forms.
Found it here by clicking on 'All My Forms'

  • MTSBob  Update 2024 --> It's now found somewhere else (slightly), see screenshots below:

    1. Add "Polls" to the chat in which you created the Poll

    2. Within "Polls" you find a drop-down menu next to the button "Back to question", and there the menu item "Response details" will show you the break-down of which user replied to which poll option:

For anyone running into this recently, I tried going to forms.office.com and it didn't show the poll/form I'd created from Teams using the Polls app. On a whim, I created a new test form to see if I could create it from Forms and then post/share it in Teams.

Once I'd created it, I clicked the Forms link in the top left by the bento menu (or you could just visit forms.office.com again) and the page magically took on a whole different look, with Recent, My forms, Shared with me, and Favorites tabs. I *still* didn't see it, but it's because I hadn't opened it recently *in Forms*, and the default tab was Recent. On another whim I happened to click the My forms tab, and behold! the test form showed up *and so did the poll I'd created in Teams!* From there on out, I could access results as described in other answers to this question.

Dear Microsoft, please dogfood your functionality. This is as intuitive as locating plans in a darkened cellar in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’. Even a simple tooltip in the Teams Polls app with text of "Results available in Microsoft Forms" would go miles. And preventing seeing a poll form if it's the only form a user has until they create at least one form from Forms itself is just eyewatering. Don't... don't do that.

mithlondsuggestion worked for me too! I had to create a dummy form from forms.office.com and then by reloading the forms.office.com page I was able to see the poll created in Teams. It seems that there needs to be at least one other form created in the forms.office.com page to be able to see the poll.

Thank you so much for ALL of this. mithlond
They still have not fixed this. I was ready to throw my device across the room.

It took me forever to figure this out! But your response helped!

Here's how to view results/recorded names/emails of respondents of a survey sent on Teams (desktop app) via Forms (app within the Teams app):

    1. Go to https://forms.microsoft.com/
    2. Log in if not already logged in
    3. Go to My Forms
    4. Find the survery you sent out (listed by the survey question) and click on it. It will open in a new window.
    5. Go to the Responses tab, top right
    6. Under the Question, you'll see a live link to More Details. Click on this and a window will pop up with people's names and responses. You can also download an Excel file with the responses by clicking Open in Excel on the right.

Let me tell ya, this is NOT intuitive or easy! Microsoft needs to work on this!!! Otherwise the Form surveys are not very useful.

    1. Create a poll in your channel or chat of choice en wait for answers.
    2.  Go to forms.office.com and login.
    3.  A screen with all your polls appears so look for the poll you created in your chat.
    4. Click on the tile representing your poll. A screen opens and shows the questions.
    5. Click on the tab Answers and new screen with statistical info appears.
    6. Now click on the button "Show Results".
    7. Now you see a dropdown menu called Respondent filled with all the users who submitted responses.

    Hope this helps,

    John

ZoraV 1) were you able to see a list of the Forms that were created (it sounds like yes)? 2) Are you able to see the text below the first question "MORE DETAILS"? 3) are you able to see the "OPEN IN EXCEL" with the ellipsis to the right of View Results? 4) I assume these would not be visible if there are no responses to the questions.

It appears that they have removed Polls from the Forms interface? I can't see any polls in my Forms.office.com portal.  JohnBoers

MTSBob  In a channel: Create a new form - click 'Add existing' then select the name of the Poll you want to see the results for. In the Collect Responses drop down, select 'Collaborate'.  The tab created will be called "Edit | "name of your poll" - click on that tab. Within the page, click on "Responses". The detail of the responses will be in the Excel that can be opened, situated on the far right just below the status.

For a poll initiated from a chat, I haven't yet found a way of doing it

IzzyBeeeesy    Thank you for your info. It worked for me. I'm somewhat new to Teams and found I created a poll, couldn't find it, and now was able to find it and add it to my "channel". Still getting used to the these new terms.

Ugh...nevermind. I found that I have to actually go to "forms.microsoft.com" in my browser to find the associated form and its responses. I cannot find any other way to access the information from inside Teams like I would with a "regular" form.
