Undeliverable notices for Microsoft Teams / O365 Groups

Many of our members, including myself, regularly get non deliverable reports when using groups/teams.

 

The use case is such: our people plan meetings using teams and invite an entire channel. After that we always get a message such as this:

The group RvB isn't set up to receive messages from jeroen.huylebroeck@jciaalst.be.

How to Fix It

Try one or more of the following:

·         If you're a member of the group, you might be registered with an email address other than jeroen.huylebroeck@jciaalst.be. Resend your message using the email address where you received a welcome message from the group.

·         Ask the group owner to add jeroen.huylebroeck@jciaalst.be as a group member. If you don't know who the group owner is, contact the organization's customer service department for assistance.

·         Ask the group owner to allow people outside their organization to send email to the group.

Status code: 550 5.7.193

The Office 365 group, RvB@jciaalst.be, is configured to reject messages sent to it from outside its organization -- unless the sender is a guest group member. jeroen.huylebroeck@jciaalst.be isn't part of the organization, and it isn't a guest group member.

If you're the group's email admin or owner, check if the sender is a member of the group, but is registered under a different email address. Alternatively, the group owner, or email admin, can add jeroen.huylebroeck@jciaalst.be as a guest member of the group.

Any ideas as to how I can troubleshoot this effectively?

    jhuylebroeck - When you set up a channel meeting, the only people who will receive an Outlook invite are those you put in the 'to' line.  It sounds like you might be putting a distribution list (group email) that includes accounts that are not set up to receive emails.

    It sounds like you might need to allow your DL to receive emails.

     

    Maybe you could clarify who you are adding on the 'to' line.
