Default scheduling mode Project app
Hi, the default scheduling mode of projects (fixed duration vs fixed effort) used to be configured in the general parameters settings in Power Apps, of the Project app (project for the web). But since that portal recently changed, I can't find it anymore. Do any of you know where those settings are to be found?
Ps the personal and advanced settings options in the navigation bar of the Project app don't work. I checked that in two different tenants. The advanced settions popout does nothing (it is still in development I believe), the personal settings generates an error. In any case these don't seem to be the General Paramenters section anyway.
Curious if some of you know where it is to be found...

On top of what Paul shared below you can also insert the selection box for this setting in your Planner Power App and pick it when you start your project/plan. See image below.
Keep in mind you can only set this once, upon plan initiation. You can't change the mode later, so make sure you have a good idea as to the type of planning and tracking you'll be doing in your schedule prior to picking fixed work or duration.
You probably don't want to pick 'fixed units' because there's really nowhere in the tool to adjust this for each resource like you can in MS Project Pro or Online. Planner Premium uses fixed work and duration as the key scheduling modes. The drop down in the Power App just provides these two options (fixed duration or work).

Do you have any pointers on how to do this: "insert the selection box for this setting in your Planner Power App and pick it when you start your project/plan"? So that it shows up in Planner.
I know it's a field in the Project power app. But it doesn't show up when creating a plan (in Planner or Teams).

Thanks, I didn't know I could get the selection box in the Planner app as well, good to know.
In this particular case however, the project is within one of my clients tenants and they have not set the parameter to allow projectmanagers to change the scheduling mode, which is what I'm trying to have them do. By default that is locked, which I believe is also see the case in your screenshot (the lock after the red asterik).
Hello Constant2250 ,
From the Project model driven app, access settings:
Click Parameters on the left Nav then access the record. On that record, click the Related drop down menu:
Then access the Parameter record and update as needed:
Does that help?

Hello Paul, yes, that is where it used to be. But now the areas are empty.
Both for me as a user with permissions, for a global admin and for a completely other tenant (with yet another account). So apparently this is 'by design' hence my question, where did it go?
