Timesheet or time tracking functionalities in Project for the Web/Planner Premium
Hi,
I've been looking for information about whether timesheet or time tracking capabilities will be made available in a not so distant future in PFTW of Planner Premium. I work at a company where we already have an instance of Project Online running in which timesheets are managed. We would like to have some sort of time tracking in PFTW/Planner premium as well since we're launching a project on that platform soon.
Does anyone have a view on what's coming or any experience on how to do time tracking in PFTW/Planner Premium?
Thanks!

They removed timesheet functionality from the roadmap months ago, which indicates they have no intention of adding that functionality anytime soon. As Paul mentioned, there are vendors that offer a solution, or you could build your own in PowerApps. To me the bigger concern is what's the future of Project Online, given it is no longer supported, and it appears Planner Premium isn't going to be built to replace Project Online.
Hello nswijngedouw ,
I don't think there are any plans to add timesheets in yet: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/faq#does-project-for-the-web-include-a-way-to-record-timesheets
Nothing on the roadmap either: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=%5B%22Planner%22%5D
There might be a 3rd party solution you could hook into but if you're looking for something out of the box, it doesn't look like it will be any time soon (if at all).

The other option is a hybrid solution that leverages Project Online's timesheet and resourcing engine, and Planner premium's Power App for everything else. We're seeing this emerge as a potential option for clients that need more robust scheduling and timesheets, but like the flexibility and UI capabilities of the Planner Power App. And the licensing 'crosses over' to potentially cover both scenarios for the PMs. Team members would need Plan 1 licenses to support timesheet entry and submission, which in the end may be a more cost effective solution than a custom timesheet Power App (until more are readily available, and if (...) Microsoft decides to expose timephase actuals in Planner...
I'd be keen to see that robhprojility - sounds a bit clunky but it's probably my lack of understanding!
