that's correct, this information comes automatically from Entra ID.
I recommend that you do not use this default termset, but create your own. This is controllable and can be used and adapted as required.Best, Dave

thanks for the reply, but why you suggest creating our own term set? i mean if we use this built-in one , we do not have to worry about maintaining the department terms? am i correct? unless there are drawbacks i am unaware of.

in most cases, it has far too many entries, including outdated ones. To provide users with only active, valid terms, we often create our own termset. Feel free to use the existing one.
