Integrating Skype for Business with Google Calendar
Hello, I need help finding a way to integrate Google agenda with Skype For Business. At the moment we do not use Microsoft's email but we use Office 365 and our local AD Synchronized with Azure.
Can Google Calendar Integration be used for scheduling meetings as usual?
Thank you.
Hi, there is no native integration between Skype for Business and Google Calendar. The error in your screenshot relates to conversation history which is dependant on the user having an Outlook / Microsoft Exchange mailbox. As you don't use Exchange, you may wish to disable ALL the options that relate to Exchange / Outlook integration in the Skype client options under the personal tab. This will prevent any error messages / symbols, and ensure that the Skype client isn't trying to integrate with Exchange in any way - it will look tidier, and be less confusing to end users.
Regarding scheduling meetings; if you don't use Exchange / Outlook then you can use the Skype for Business web scheduler to schedule and send out your meeting invites. Ultimately though you'll need to populate the meeting join information that's generated with the scheduler into your Google Calendar manually. There is a heavy hit on functionality, capability, and end user experience in Skype for Business when not using Exchange / Outlook, simply because of the level of integration that's always existed between the two. That's not to say that you can't still have a great end user experience providing the configuration and right level of end user awareness is in place :)
Kind regards
Ben
