Hello, I am experiencing an issue with my external SSD, which has been locked by BitLocker. I had to restart my work computer, and after the restart, the drive was automatically locked. I did not make any changes; I simply restarted the computer. Now, the drive is locked, and I am being prompted to enter a 48-digit recovery key, which I do not have. Could you please advise me on what to do in this situation? Is there a location on my computer where I might be able to find the recovery key? Thank you for your assistance.177Views0likes0Commentssteps to remove S mode and change microsoft account

Hi everyone, We are trying to migrate computers from domain joined to INTUNE. Every time we disjoin a computer the BitLocker has a problem suspending or even disabling and re-enabling. What we found is an error 851 the system cannot find the file specified. When we rejoin to The domain and enable BitLocker the error does not happen and BitLocker is enabled successfully. We also use a pin with the boot up. I tried searching the issue and attempted the repairs suggested with no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated. Good morning, We have a problem with laptops that are equipped with 11th generation Intel i7 and i5 processors. The problem manifests itself after connecting the trap to the domain and entering the policy by SCCM using MBAM. I get a message saying BitLocker could not be turned on, clearing the TPM helps, but sometimes you have to do this several times before the message disappears. This only occurs on the 11th generation. Does anyone know what this problem is caused by?1.4KViews0likes3CommentsWindows 10 Home - Device Encryption - Can I turn on without a Microsoft account
Hello, Happy Friday! 🙂 I would like to turn on the BitLocker Device Encryption with an offline Administrator account, but I am asked to sign in with a Microsoft account instead. May I know how I can bypass signing in to the Microsoft online account? Any information is welcomed. 🙂 Model: Surface Go 3 OS: Windows 10 Home (No S) Error message: You need a Microsoft account to finish encrypting this device. Hi, I am using Microsoft windows 10 pro and I just noticed that my computer has bitlocker enabled by default, but I don't have the recovery key. I am afraid of losing my important data and I don't have any secondary copy of files. Is there any way to back up the key to safe place and what is the prefer way to store it. I will appreciate if someone will help in this.Solved61KViews0likes7CommentsBitlocker Management not showing up on Company Domain Account
My issue: When I log into my Windows 10 Pro laptop with a local administrator account (<laptop_name>\<username>), Bitlocker management is available and active. However, when I log into the same Windows 10 Pro laptop with my company's domain administrator account (<company>.com\<username>), the bitlocker management options are missing from the control panel settings. I want to be able to manage bitlocker while logged in with my company account. More information: When initially enabling bitlocker, I still had this same issue: bitlocker management options were only available on my local windows account, and not my company windows account. So, from my local account, I turned on bitlocker, and, since I had previously logged into my company account, I selected the option to automatically back up my bitlocker keys to that company Azure Active Directory (AD) account. And I have confirmed that when I log into my AD account, I can see my laptop device listed there, and I can view my bitlocker keys for it. So, from my local account bitlocker was successfully enabled, my entire hard drive was encryped, and my bitlocker recovery keys are properly available on my company AD account. Now, when logged into my laptop with my LOCAL account, I can view my bitlocker settings, and it says encryption is enabled and everything is good. HOWEVER, when logged into my laptop with my COMPANY account, bitlocker settings are not available from the control panel. They just do not exist at all. 1. Why are the bitlocker settings missing when I am logged into my laptop with my company account? 2. How can I enable bitlocker management when logged into my company account? 3. Since I enabled bitlocker from my local account, is it still encrypting all the data when logged in with my company account? Thank you.2.8KViews0likes1CommentEnable Bitlocker on devices without TPM - Standard Users
Hello, We are in the process of migrating our Drive Encryption solution to Bitlocker. We successfully migrated the majority of our clients with TPM to Bitlocker by using Intune Configuration Profiles. The issue we are facing now is that we need to enable Bitlocker on devices without TPM. Users are not local admins so they cannot complete the Bitlocker Wizard. I have played around with different Intune Profiles, Encryption Policies and custom OMA-URI but the closest I get is through the first prompt regarding 3rd party encryption and then I get UAC prompt to elevate. Is there a configuration that allows me to enable Bitlocker on devices that do not have TPM, without requiring IT to have to manually touch each device? Some screenshot of settings below... I have tried with the "Compatible TPM Startup" as Blocker / Not Configured / Allowed...2.1KViews0likes3CommentsWindows Insider: Beta Channel (Discounted/Free 11 Home to 11 Pro)
Hey Everyone, I'm not sure I'm in the correct place. I've never posted on here before. I'm on Windows 11 Home Edition through the beta channel. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to move from 11 Home Edition to 11 Pro Edition (or is there another better suited?). I am a student. Majoring in software development. I have interests in joining the developer program here, I'm just a bit nervous it's too advanced for me. I would really like to access the features that are available on other versions of Windows. I was able to enable Hyper-V. But I would like to have access to the sandbox (Not sure if that's even available on the PRO edition), screencasting. I can sometimes cast a youtube and some other things, but not just screencast my full desktop, for example) and Bitlocker. My device is definitely capable. I checked and the status of my TPM, it says Status: Ready to use. I have 32gb RAM and 1tb SSD (also a couple external HDD/SSD) Anyways, I can't afford to pay for the pro version. I was wondering what the absolute cheapest way to get it would be. Or if there are work arounds like there is for enabling Hyper-V. When we enable intune policy: Block write access to devices configured in another organization in Intune Bitlocker policy We also need to deploy an Onprem GPO policy: Provide unique identifier for your organization. This will allow the PC to differentiate the Org it belongs to. GPO policy: Provide unique identifier for your organization is missing in Intune. Because of this we cannot use Intune policy: Block write access to devices configured in another organization. Looking for suggestions how we implement Block write access to devices configured in another organization in Intune for Azure AD Join (not hybrid domain join)?1.2KViews0likes0Comments
