Calling
9 TopicsTeams recognizes my headphones but turns them off.
So because I have online classes I need to use Teams. I plugged my headphones in and it recognizes them at first but then just says that they've been disconnected or that it doesn't recognize them. When it says it doesn't recognize them, I check the settings and there it says it does recognize them. It didn't do this in November but now it does. Any solutions?799Views0likes0CommentsFrequent freezing up of Teams
My daughter uses Teams for joining her online school classes and half-way through the 30 minute class, the video and generally, the laptop freezes and the laptop needs to be force shut down. This happens almost during every class on the day, leading to a very interrupted learning experience. While there was no such observation on other online collaboration tools, the problem only seems with MS Teams. I've even tried upgrading the RAM from 4GB to 12 GB, but to no avail. I've also tried clearing cache as per one of the online forum suggestions from 2019. Appreciate if anyone can please help on this.640Views0likes0CommentsMS Teams dropping from meetings randomly
Hi all We have been having some issues with my daughter's school Teams experience. They have remote learning sessions a few times a day and we cannot stay connected throughout the call. After joining, we get randomly dropped any time, when we reconnect same thing happens. I also work from home and I use Teams whole day, I organise, join meetings several times a day and never had an issue. This only affects my daughter's school account. The other kids in the class do not have any issues at all, it is only us. I have been searching the forums and trying to find a solution but whatever I tried didn't really help. I tried following 1- Using different devices. Initially we were using laptop PC app then iPad and finally android phone. We have exactly the same issue on every device. 2- After noticing a forum thread, I logged out all devices but only one. Still the same problem 3- Tried the web app via Chrome browser - same result including on a different laptop 4- Another forum thread recommended turning off new meeting experience under the settings, I turned that off and I don’t know if that was our lucky day, it worked fine only for one session. After that the problem persisted. 5- I uninstalled Teams on every device I have and tried installing from scratch and logging in only one device. Still the same problem 6- I thought our internet provider (BT) might block some protocols which the Teams for education would be using and called BT. They confirmed there is no restriction at all. 7- I tried using LAN cable connection just in case our wifi was not good. Again the same result. 8- I tried android phone on 4G network to make sure our broadband is not faulty: same result! School don’t have an IT specialist and the headteacher doesn’t know that much about IT. After asking their central IT support they recommended using a different device. They gave us a new iPad but the result is the same I am going nuts as I cannot find a solution to this. The weird thing is that I use Teams for work without any problem. I appreciate if you have any ideas and help! Thanks in advance2.1KViews0likes2CommentsTeams iPad app- Can't switch to participants view when someone is sharing screen
Previously our teachers would share their screen from their laptops while also viewing the participant view on their iPad to monitor their students. Apparently a recent update to the teams app has taken away the ability to switch to the participant view when someone is presenting/sharing. Is this an oversight? Is anyone else seeing the same behavior? Any workarounds? Thanks!2.5KViews1like3CommentsThe ability to prevent members having read access to the recording that is saved in onedrive
Hi All , Is it possible to stop members having read access to meeting recordings by default? We are a school and don't want students to be able to view the recordings from the meeting. Is this possible?802Views0likes0CommentsRecurring connection problems in Teams meetings
Hi everyone, I use Teams everyday for school. Unfortunately, I have a recurring connection problem, which occurs at every meeting that I join. After some time, I lost connection with the other participants and the message: "We ran into a problem. Reconnecting..."display on my screen. While displaying the message, Teams play a sound (to demonstrate that it tries to reconnect). That sound always play two times, so the delay between the connection problem and the reconnection is always the same. I have had this problem since the beginning of my school session, in August. I seem to be the only one with this problem, although I have a 1GB/s Internet connexion at home. The problem seems to occur randomly in my meetings (sometimes it happens several times in the same meeting.). I use the desktop application with a school account. I know there is other discussions on the same subject, but they did not help me to resolve the problem. Does someone have any solution? Thank you!991Views0likes0CommentsScreensharing does not work on private calls
Hi folks, i use msteams for teaching. During the hole last term (from april to june) it was possible to see a shared screen of a student into a private call. Since some weeks i only see a black background with the studentlogo in this situation. If the student use screensharing into a meeting on a canel it works fine (but all other members of this meeting could see the screen too). Is there any idea to solve this? Thanks in advance to any hint. Ralf635Views0likes0CommentsBlock user(s) with your tenant?
We are a small school for children from k-12. We have middle schoolers making private calls (prank calls, being inappropriate) to other student's. Is there a way to block students from making private calls, but still allowing them to receive private calls from staff (the students have private counseling services where they meet 1 on 1 with staff, so the current Teams Policies settings in to block all private calls won't work) to other students? Or give the option for students to block calls from other students? I know you can block people in your contact list, but the "block" option is only available when the user you're trying to block is outside of your tenant. Thank you for your time
