Join us for two special events where our Planner product team shares what is coming to the new Microsoft Planner. In our Meet the Makers virtual event on April 3 rd , leaders from the Planner product team will talk about the latest on the future of task and work management for Microsoft 365. They will explain how the new Microsoft Planner brings together the simplicity of Microsoft To Do, the collaboration of Microsoft Planner, the power of Microsoft Project for the web - with the intelligence of Microsoft Copilot - into a simple, familiar experience. Our experts will showcase some of the key new capabilities and improvements of the new experience, including demonstrations on how to leverage Copilot in Planner to create plans, tasks, and goals and get Copilot to answer questions on progress, priorities, workload and more. On April 4, we will host a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA). During the AMA session members of the Planner product team will answer questions directly from the community. This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from the recent Meet the Makers event. I really want to take advantage of Microsoft 365 To-do and Planner for my workflow, after months of using these two apps I found them have a lot of potential but fell short of being practical due to the poor-sighted UX design, lack of automation support, and weak integration with other 365 apps, Outlook in particular. Lack of template support (To-do, Planner): This is a crucial flaw of both To-do and Planner. For repetitive work flow, I want the ability to have a template of tasks and subtasks. Currently I'm making template by creating tasks or plans, name them "[Template]", and manually clone them. This is tacky as my "Template" tasks and plans kept populated under suggestions for things to do. Lack of automation (To-do, Planner): I want the ability to easily generate a particular template of task or plan from an Outlook email. This would speed up my work flow tremendously. Currently the best Microsoft offer in term of automation is to create a task with the email name and a link to that email. No subtasks nor planner integration whatsoever. Lack of bulk actions (To-do, Planner): This is specifically frustrating for Planner, I have to manually assign each task under a plan to myself, there is no option to assign tasks in bulk. Microsoft offers integration between To-do and Planner where Planner tasks can show up in my To-do list but only if it's assigned to me, what good does this integration do if the amount of manual work overtake the convenience? No archive option for Planner: Once a plan is completed, there is no option to archive it, user have to delete the plan or have it remains on UI forever, even the delete button is well-hidden. The lack of archive option means I cannot go back to previously completed plans and see the date each tasks is completed. Last but not least, it felt like these two apps don't get any attention from Microsoft. They rarely get updates, it's quite unsettling to use theses feeling like it's being abandoned by the company.10KViews5likes3Comments🚀 Mastering Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals – My Learning Journey & Tips!

Hi All, We would like to setup Microsoft Loop so that reminders are sent to people assigned tasks in loop one or two days, etc....before task due date. Either by syncing to Planner * which does not happen* automatically despite some online sources. Or though Power Automate... Any Ideas?157Views0likes6CommentsYear Planning in Office 365 Planner
I have strong commitments throughout the year, and I need to make a year planning in advance. In addition, I find useful to have a quick view of what it is ahead in the remaining of the year and assess the workload. I see that Planner web has a "Schedule" tab that contains two views, "Week" and "Month", but there is no "Year" view. I may use the "Month" view instead, but that means having to browse through each month constantly instead of having all info in one or two screens.. Do you have any hints about how can I make year planning within Planner or another Office 365 app?3KViews4likes1CommentNo copying existing plans in new Planner?
In the old Planner I could copy an entire Plan en reuse it with new dates and everything. In the new Planner I can't seem to find a possibility to copy an existing plan. I'm at a total loss here... am I supposed to create a new plan similar to earlier plans every time? How is this feature removed? Anyone any ideas where to find it?702Views1like3CommentsPlanner tasks "template" for same tasks monthly
The finance department would like to have month end tasks to accomplish, pay xyz, update finance, etc. A lot of the tasks are the same and they'd like to have a Planner task / plan that has a few hundred tasks and assigned to people and have them assigned "March 2021" and then "April 2021" etc. Same tasks, just a Template of the past tasks. They will fill out the tasks and know "Matt updated" "Jane is in progress" etc. Just need to have it recreated over and over again. They plan to try to use this in Teams and have a new channel for each month so 03-2021 and 04-2021 (for example) and then have a brand new Planner plan each month to know the status of the work people are performing. We are looking for a solution. If this is NOT the BEST solution. Please let me / us know. We have M365 E3 license so we can be flexible. I am thinking as I type. I don't know if we could create a Planner plan and have it as the "template" and then maybe have Power Automate "grab" and copy the Planner plan and put it into the new group? Maybe use Power Apps to say "what is the team and the name of the 'new channel' and then Power Automate would create the new Planner from one....maybe a "Planner Teams template team" and then have a General tab, obviously, and a "template channel" with the "generic Planner plan" in it as a tab, that they can update as needed. Can add Jane or remove Rick, or add Jannell, etc.? We are not new to the products, yet not major developers and so it will be tough to just "make it happen." .... which is why we are asking here! Thank you! Matt15KViews1like6CommentsMicrosoft Planner – Audit trails for Cards (Activity)
Hi folks, Could we please have an activity feed for each card to log who did what? Having the ability to know who changed the dates, the description, etc., would help increase the transparency and the integrity of the information contained in it. We might want to mimic what is currently done on Trello. For example: Dimitri Pletschette set this card to be due Jun 6 at 11:50 AM a few seconds ago Dimitri Pletschette added this card to To Do 5 minutes ago Feel free to jump into the conversation below.
