Notifications

A lot of the staff in our organization are field technicians who seem to be missing important articles being published on our SharePoint site. They aren't really ever logging in to SharePoint to observe articles or anything they may be following. To be fair to them, this is an issue for eight percent of the various staff in the company. I'm a little confused about the "correct" method for them to get near-instant notifications. Is there something I (the admin) can do to enable or push notifications (either in Teams or Outlook) to notify them something has been posted? I feel like the right way to do it, or the way it seems to maybe work, is to ⭐️ follow a SharePoint site and wait for notifications to appear either in Outlook or Teams if you're not already actively engaging on the site. Either within 24 hours or with a week, you'll get an email that says, "Here's some things you might have missed". In practice, people are telling me this (following) isn't working for them and they're complaining that they're missing notifications. I don't have their devices in my hand to confirm if their settings are correct. This seems awfully passive and not proactive enough to ensure people are being notified of new posts. Is there a singular explicit guide for getting / pushing notifications when something is published on SharePoint? Consider that some people are only using phones while others are only using computers. I would prefer that everything be pushed to staff via Teams because we're trying to drive Teams engagement across the organization. The best I've found is this article about following SPO sites but it doesn't really mention what following a site will result in (other than what you see when you log into SharePoint) or how you might get notifications https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/find-and-follow-sites-news-and-content-4411e38f-9bc5-4ecc-bd33-3dbe939ac84c Again, most people are not actively logging in to SharePoint so how can we have notifications pushed to them (in Teams)?2.3KViews0likes2CommentsChange Storage warning notification in bulk for all sites
Hi all, We received a question from our client that they want to get a notification when one of the sites reaches the 80% full mark on a SharePoint site. We have enabled the manual option in SharePoint admin center. There are around 1000 sites in the tenant. But not all have the notification on, or on the same level. The percentage varies with the site. Between 80% and 95%. Is there a way I can edit this in bulk for all sites within the tenant? So every site sends a notification when they hit 80% of total storage? I have searched but can only find PowerShell scripts that increase the storage quota.788Views0likes0CommentsHow to turn off or on mail notification when comments added to the files on Document Libraries?
We know that this is very useful feature to receive mail notification when any comment is added to the file uploaded on Document libraries. Would like to understand more about this functionality, as I noticed we are receiving mail notification even when @ mention isn't used. What is the general rules for sending, not sending email notification and how to turn on & off this feature??18KViews0likes2CommentsSharePoint Creating Files Randomly
Hi there, I have an interesting issue that is popping up and I'm not quiet sure how to tackle this. At the business I am with we use SharePoint a lot. There's a process that we use of dropping invoices needing Purchase Order fixes. There is a folder that this is done in and in that folder there has been a bulk of files created by a user that is not at his station. When they are being created the modified dates are not current but in the past. We have had this process for 2 years now and this just started happening. Was hoping there was a way to stop this from happening. Any suggestions would be great, thank you!1.9KViews0likes1CommentList Notifications customized in SharePoint Online
Hello, I am trying to create list notifications for a list from our HR department. Another group should get change notifications on a weekly base, but not access to the list. They also should not get all information in these notifications, because some columns are only for HR. The problem is now, that I cant simply change the notification layout. Is there any solution to hide the column in the notification in SharePoint online, or do you have another possible solution? Do I need to use PowerAutomate instead? I am relatively new to SharePoint and just learning about all the functionalities so it would be a great help, if you had a solution. I already tried this with PowerAutomate, but I have no idea, how to pur the changes from 1 week in a simple table. If SharePoint would offer a native solution for this problem, I could save some time.Solved928Views0likes1CommentSending notifications to review documents
Hi We're setting up a pretty basic Sharepoint document library but the one function that I do need is to be able to have documents with a "Review Due Date" and have a notification sent to the owner of each document 30 days beforehand, 20 days, 10 days and then to show as an overdue task in red if the date doesn't change. We're using the Communications site as opposed to Team site as these documents will be the current versions available to staff. I've looked at flows but can't see one that will suit. I'm used to using Sharepoint with a Document Controller tab with built in approval workflows etc but this is way more basic than that. Thanks in advance2.6KViews0likes2Comments
