Auto-append trailing * wildcard to search for substrings in modern sharepoint
I have a modern communication site and if I search a list for 'can', it will not return Canada, or Canadian in my results. but if I search for can*, both items will be returned. I believe it is possible to program classic search to append this wildcard automatically, so I don't need to type the * every time. But does anyone know how I can achieve this with modern search? And please no one reply with, "this isn't possible". It seems to me, that if this isn't possible, why hasn't Microsoft fixed this yet? I've never seen another intranet search engine work this way. Or am I missing a simple solution to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is not natural for end users to have to remember to type a * at the end of their search string, which consequently returns poor results for their searches..
Security Audit/Penetration testing SharePoint
Hi, We need to do penetration and vulnerability testing in our O365 SharePoint. Ay idea how to proceed with it? I am aware that the IP will be blacklisted by Microsoft incase of penetration and vulnerability testing. However the audit is a criteria to meet. I assume there should be a way to achieve it with help of Microsoft. Any help/ideas are appreciated. Thanks
Turn on O365 alerting when Admin role is activated?
Hi all 🙂 I am wondering how I turn on alerts when a role is activated through O365 rather than Azure AD. I have PIM setup for Azure AD, but when an Admin role is assigned/activated through the O365 portal, then I do not receive an alert. Any and all help is appreciated 🙂
AvePoint Office 365 Backup Job Exception- Missing Web Part
We are using AvePoint Online Services to backup our data in Office 365. While AvePoint is working properly will almost all our SharePoint sites, it is throwing an exception upon job completion The error description reads: "An error occurred while backing up the item. Item ID: e34a9f32-9d46-47bb-9057-900f372080b3, Item Name: Home.aspx, Error: The operation could not be completed because the Web Part is not on this page.." The web part is on: https://[ORGANIZATION].sharepoint.com/Site Pages/Home.aspx cannot be displayed on the web page. Can you tell us which Web Part is causing this exception in the backup job? What’s also curious is we cannot access the Web Parts Maintenance Page at: https://[ORGANIZATION].sharepoint.com/SitePages/Home.aspx?contents=1 “Something went wrong: Correlation ID: 36b4649f-c001-b000-19be-9d23732c8879” We’ve reached out to AvePoint for their analysis of the issue and they provided the following: “AvePoint Cloud Backup is using SharePoint Client API to retrieve web parts to backup, not using another web part for synchronization. Assign Yammer license to all licensed users Office 365
Hello I need help in adding Yammer to all licensed users in Office 365. We already have bunch of licenses for all the users. For example, each user has Enterprise E3, Enterprise mobility + Security E3, ATP. However the sub license: yammer is unchecked in E3 Plan. I tried doing through powershell however all the scripts were based on location and disabling licenseoptions. Is there a script for all licensed users (or by usage location: US) to add yammer add on in E3? I tried the script from: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Bulk-Assign-License-with-5477e8e2#content however I get the error as :Set-MsolUserLicense : Unable to assign this license because it is invalid. Use the Get-MsolAccountSku cmdlet to retrieve a list of valid licenses. I have used the Get-MsolAccountSku command and got the same results. Not sure if I am missing something Thank you.
Office365 Profile Photos Disappearing
Hi, We have added profile photos to all users O365 Profiles in both Azure AD and the Office Admin Centre and these were not pulling through to the People webpart in SharePoint Online. After painstakingly going through each user profile in the SharePoint Admin portal, the photos seemed to appear. All seemed fine for about a week and then all of a sudden people's photos started disappearing from Delve and the SharePoint people webpart! Users confirmed that they did not manually delete the photo themselves. Why is this happening and how do we stop it happening to anymore users?! Columns are as below: Emp_ID -- Single line text (Max. length 12) Emp_FullName -- Single Line Text (Max. length 100) Emp_ShortID -- Single line text (Max. length 16) Account_Name -- Choice Account_Manager -- People or Group Supporting_Technology -- Choice Available_P1 -- Yes / No We need a requirement to Export this List periodically (Weekly / Monthly) into CSV and Upload the File in Document Library.
