Hello guys, does anyone met these issues before? Project: over 6k tasks resources incl. baseline used There is something wrong - when I try to filter table, filter applies but immediately the filter buttons disappear.. Also, when trying to switch to Task usage view, it doesn't work (doesn't switch the view). Of course I tried to copy original view from template, did not work. I tried to export XML data and import it into blank new project, did not work either. Only way I could switch into that view is to open New window with that specific view.. but that's crazy, you know.. Any ideas? 😉 Thanks, Milan2.3KViews0likes7CommentsProject Server 2019 Schedule.aspx Load Error only in edit mode
Hi All, I have a problem with Project Server 2019 - Project Web App sites in both test and production farms. The problem is when I try to open any project in edit mode and navigate to schedule.aspx page, I get a message saying "Sorry, we were unable to open your project..." gives you an option to click OK and takes you back to the project center. BTW Everything was working fine in both test/production env till last week or so. I believe the customer IT department made some changes but I don't know what It might be. What I tried so far to find a root cause is listed below. As I said both environments have the same issue, so the problem could be related to some security policy blocking something that affects both farms. edit: editing and publishing schedule works fine through MS Project Professional reached the web services through VPN, receive the said error, used RDP to connect to a local virtual machine in the customer network, receive the same problem tried Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, received the same problem tried to access PWA sites from directly host servers, received the same problem checked for script load fails using developer console network tab, but didn't find any failed loads I did check the ULS records and here is what I found: PcsPool.AssignWorker: Failed to assign worker to project ed0ecd66-391f-eb11-b073-0050568a442e, removing from database. Hi, We have Project 2019/SharePoint 2019/Project Web App 2019 on premise system. We adjusted Left Navigation menu for project site as shown below. The links were just moved up/down and indented. No changes made to the URL. The above image shows the navigation structure on existing Project site. Project template is created from existing Project Site. When a new project is created, we see broken link (Project Details 1) for Project Details as shown below and new (Project Details 2) is created outside the navigation structure. Project Details 1 link does not go to Project Information page. It exits out to the Project Center The Project Details 2 link goes to the Project information page as expected but it is created outside the section. Please see the screenshot, for site setting -> navigation settings for the project that created using template. How can we fix this issue on the template? Any help on this issue is appreciated. Thank you.1.3KViews0likes3CommentsPublishing updates in Sub Projects does not reflect it in the Master Project through EPM PWA
Hello, We have couple of projects under a Master project in Project Server 2019 (on-premises). However when we update the sub-projects, the updates does not reflect in the Master Project. Than youSolved1.2KViews0likes12CommentsIs it possible to interact with Project Server data from a Project Server server-side event handler?
I have MS Project Server running on a SP 2016 on-prem SharePoint farm. I have set up server side event handlers for the OnPublishing and OnPublished events. Everything is configured correctly for those, I do extensive logging and I know that they are fired at the appropriate times. My goal is to set a project scoped enterprise custom field from that server side code. I have tried loading/opening the custom field and specific projects using both the Project Server CSOM (Microsoft.ProjectServer.Client) and by making requests to the REST API using System.Net.Http.HttpClient. Nothing seems to work. Using the CSOM I get a (403) Forbidden error, and making REST requests gets me a System.UnauthorizedAccessException. I've tried both with and without using SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges. I know that that effectively runs the code as the app pool account, and I explicitly added the app pool service account to the "Administrators for Project Web App" group. I also noticed that there is a "Microsoft Project Server Events" service running in the background, and that service is also using the same account as the app pool, so theoretically adding that account to the Administrators group should give it full control. So why am I getting these "unauthorized" and "forbidden" errors? How can I access a project and set an enterprise custom field from a server side event handler? This should be possible, somehow, right? Or is it just completely unallowed and impossible to do? The only other thing I can think of is that we have switched over from windows auth to claims auth... What do I need to do to use the Project Server CSOM or REST API in a claims-y way?1.1KViews0likes2CommentsMigration to a hosted environment
Hello, I'd like to get some feedback regarding migrating Project Web Apps (PWA) from your local environments to a hosted solution and therefore a content database migration is no longer an option. In addition some departments will be migrating from Project Server 2010 while the hosted environment is Project Server 2016. A PWA will already be created for each department and users will no longer have access to Central Administration. The end users from the department will migrate their own projects to this new PWA using Project Professional. It is also important to point out that departments do not use custom solutions such as workflows. The only customizations includes out-of-box solutions such as enterprise custom fields and lookup tables. Here are some of the Microsoft TechNet articles I have already reviewed Software requirements for Project Server 2016 Deploy Project Server 2016 Upgrade to Project Server 2016 So here are the questions- What's the best or recommended path for the Project Server 2010 users to migrate? Should they 1st have a local copy of their projects on their desktop/laptops, upgrade their Project Professional to 2016 and then publish it to the new Project Server 2016? Same question as above but for Project Server 2013 users. Anything that affects reporting when migrating from 2010 or 2013 to 2016?1KViews0likes1CommentAlternative to ODATA using MS Project SE (Subscription Edition)
Hi all, until last week we were using MS Project Server 2016 and visualizing the data from the PWA in Power BI via the ODATA Connector. Last weekend SharePoint and MS Project were upgraded to Subcription Edition (SE) on prem and now the ODATA interface is no longer usable. Do you have any idea how to make the data from the MS Project Server Subscription Edition PWA usable?
