Sleep
5 TopicsMicrosoft Defender and Samsung OneUI
Hey all, We are experiencing something that I'm sure other users have come across but to this date, haven't found a fix. We use Samsung devices in house, and these are all enrolled through KNOX and Intune. We push out our selection of Configuration profiles, Restriction profiles, Apps, App Configurations etc. Defender is one of these apps, but we've come across a problem. Samsung One UI seems to be overly aggressive in its App Sleep / Battery Saver management and we're finding the Defender is being slept leaving out devices out of compliance. Has anyone found a manual configuration to push out that disables this action by Samsung phones? I realise that we have to do 'some' manual setup of Android Defender but would like this automated if possible. Anyone else come across this or found a fix other than manually disabling the App Sleep options?921Views0likes2CommentsWake from Sleep not working
Since updating my SSD and RAM in my computer with a fresh install of Windows 11 (twice, now) I am having an issue with slower bootups and also, a non-functional sleep or hybrid mode. The SSD and the RAM are checking out with regards to integrity checks repeatedly, I've also run SFC and so forth command prompts to try and fix the issue as well as memory checks on startup, no issue. The issue I'm told by Microsoft agents is likely to be the insider preview build I'm on? Can someone help.371Views0likes0CommentsMS Designer Compact Auto Sleep Function - Impossible to turn off
Hello, I've been in contact with various support technicians trying to solve this issue, my case went to the L2 level, where I was offered either to return the unit or keep it and maybe post a support ticket here and in the feedback hub, which I am doing now. The MS Designer Compact keyboard and the numpad units have a built-in sleep mode switch, which turns off the keyboard in order to preserve battery life. This is all fine, except when the keyboard goes in sleep mode during use. I’ve noticed this behavior while working with it and sometimes it goes to sleep while typing. The keyboard needs a second or two to turn back on and does not register the inputted characters during the wake-up phase. The advice I was gives was: Change the power plan and all sub-categories to performance (which I already had enabled) Changing the power mode of the devices, Bluetooth adapters and HID devices to have the option “allow device to turn on PC” to enabled and “prevent PC from disconnecting device to save power” to off. Press fn+S+O on the keyboard for three seconds to manually override the keyboard’s sleep mode Nothing worked. I assume it’s a hardware setting, which could maybe be resolved by a firmware update. I also assume there’s no way of fixing this with tinkering in Windows. IS there a possible fix to this or a firmware update in the work to address this? I’ve seen many support tickets describing this issue in relation to other MS keyboards and mice, and no fix was to be found. When I put my PC to sleep, VPN connection is disconnected and when I wake it up, it stays disconnected. Windows should automatically reconnect it. this is a security issue and important concern, I don't want non-VPN (direct) connections. Hi all, Looking for help in getting W10 devices to patch whilst in sleep mode. I would be looking to put the Windows 10 device to sleep then deploying updates overnight. Set up is as follows - Lenovo T470s Laptop - Windows 10 1903 - OS Deployed using Autopilot self-deploying mode. Laptop is in Shared PC mode The area which is unclear to me is as follows. The setting in Shared PC mode below suggests that this is the period when maintenance starts Shared multi-user device Maintenance start time(in minutes from midnight) I believe I would have to use a Windows Update Ring alongside this to deploy the updates. Hovwever, there doesn't seem to be documentation detailing how to achieve this. i.e. waking form sleep mode and deploying updates using Windows update rings? Any advice appreciated982Views1like1Comment
