Say hello to the new Favorite Sidebar feature in the Edge browser
Microsoft Edge Version 87.0.654.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit) (This could be a controlled feature rollout meaning only available to a subset of insiders) this is the new view you get when you click on favorites button on Edge toolbar and once you click on that Pin icon, the sidebar will show up I love this mechanism and implementation, very neat and smart! thanks also the favorites menu no longer closes when you open favorite sites in new tabs, something I know a lot of people asked for.NEW Feature: Favorite/Bookmark Duplicates Removal option Added
Another new feature in Edge Canary Version 81.0.411.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit), Favorites/Bookmarks Duplicate removal option if you click/touch the Favorites button on toolbar Or go to your Favorites manager: edge://favorites/ you will notice this option at the bottom-left of the page Clicking on "Remove Duplicate Favorites" tells Edge to check for any duplicates in your favorites by scanning them I Just scanned my favorites and I didn't have any duplicates
[Suggestion] If a bookmark folder name starts with an emoji use it as the folder icon
It would be really good for a more personalized experience and, I believe, easy to implement, that it was possible to change the icon of folders in the bookmarks (especially if they are on the bookmarks bar). For a easier solution, instead of creating UI and icons for folders, it would be pretty good, if when naming a folder the first character was an emoji, to use it as the folder icon.Regarding the Interface features: Auto-Hide / open the bookmarks bar.

I used to use old Opera and Chrome and I always lacked the ability to quickly view my bookmarks from the top, Later I discovered Cent Browser (a completely new project) also developed on the chromium engine. "Auto-Hide/show" the bookmarks bar. YES! This is cool! At the moment, I use it and this feature is very strongly saved with its minimalism chromium and interface - the very thing you need.I would hardly be able to convince you ,butMy personal opinion is that the slogan of any software product at the moment should be convenience.Сool feature! minus- Edge is a very good browser, but due to the fact that it also wants to focus on touch screens - it has a slightly-thick - wide interface .Show the number of favorites/bookmarks in Edge in edge://favorites/
I want to know how many bookmarks/favorites I have (excluding folders), just pure favorite items but due to having multiple folders, It's hard to CTRL + A (select all shortcut) on each folder, add the numbers one by one to find out how many bookmarks/favorites I have. please add the number somewhere in here: edge://favorites/ everyone will benefit from it. also it helps to detect if any favorites are duplicated.
Feature Request: Add an optional user-defined description field to bookmarks
Hello! I'm constantly re-naming and re-organizing my bookmarks (favorites) so that they make the most sense to my future self when I have to circle back to some resource I might not have even thought about in quite some time. But it can be difficult to put enough information in the 'Name' field to remind me if it's really the location I want to be opening. One feature that I think would be really beneficial is to add an additional 'Description' field that can be defined when creating/editing a bookmark (favorite). If this field is populated with some text, then it should be displayed in the bookmark's tooltip when hovering over it. I see no issue having this field be character limited to some number of characters, as long as it can contain a couple of sentences. I think this would be a really neat feature that would enable users to have much simpler 'file structures' for their bookmarks (favorites), while also making their bookmarks more reliable over time. Sometimes users will make multiple links to various sub-pages that all exist within the same website. But with this extra information available, one could more easily just link to the higher-level URL of a website; because the bookmark (favorite) description could contain just enough info to help them find what they need from the one access point. Often, websites re-organize their pages in ways that could break old bookmarks, but higher-level URLs of a website change much less frequently. So this feature wouldn't just make navigating your bookmarks easier; in practice, it would also allow the user to make useful bookmarks that would be more reliable over time. Chrome's PDF viewer supports direct linking to bookmarks using the following format, which is supported by Adobe: https://www.mydomain.com/files/pdfdocument.pdf#Bookmark Edge's PDF viewer does not appear to support this, but does support direct links to pages. https://www.mydomain.com/files/pdfdocument.pdf#page=3 If the bookmark feature is missing, how do I best request that is added on behalf of my customer (a large Enterprise)? If the feature is supposed to work, how do I report a defect (bug)?
