Hi, Please consider adding SOCKS5 proxy support and Authentication (username and password) to the new Edge browser. currently only Firefox has that capability (without Auth). Microsoft Edge insider is using the same networking settings as google chrome which is not ideal and heavily relies on extensions and 3rd party programs. please create a separate proxy settings page that only effects Edge browser (like Firefox) and Not the whole Windows OS, and add SOCKS5 support to it. Thanks70KViews5likes5CommentsWhich one is better? Skia API as the graphics API or OpenGL ES
I'm looking for pros and cons of each API, because Edge Canary version 83.0.467.0 has a new flag called: Skia API for compositing If enabled, the display compositor will use Skia as the graphics API instead of OpenGL ES. – Windows #enable-skia-renderer and I want to know what are the benefits of Skia API over OpenGL ES if i turn it on?Solved67KViews0likes5CommentsIntroducing Workspaces in Edge | New feature
Workspaces you can create multiple Workspaces in Edge, have tabs in each of them, and when you close all Edge windows and open Edge again, you still have your workspaces, it's like a combination of tabs set aside + tab groups + pinned tabs experimental feature in canary, probably CFR. works really well so far57KViews25likes95CommentsHow to refresh all tabs or some tabs at the same time and do other bulk actions
How to refresh all tabs or some tabs at the same time how to select multiple tabs or all tabs and do bulk actions on them (refresh, add to group, add to favorites, mute, duplicate etc) watch this video: (recorded in 1080p, 60FPS, MKV): https://streamable.com/qdb1s you can select multiple tabs by holding CTRL and click on tabs to select them individually. another easier way is this: for example you have 10 tabs open and you want to select all of them at once, move your mouse pointer to the right most tab, hold CTRL + SHIFT and then click on it, you will see all of the tabs, from left to right, are selected. last example: you have 10 tabs open, you want to only select tabs from #3 to #8. you move your mouse cursor to tab #3, hold CTRL and then click on it, next you move your mouse cursor to tab #8, hold CTRL + SHIFT and click on it, you'll see now you've selected only tabs from #3 to #8 (i.e tabs #1, #2, #9, #10 are Not selected).37KViews5likes3CommentsWhat's new in Edge insider Canary Version 79.0.290.0

this one is a new flag you can enable: edge://flags/#edge-robin Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.852.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I think, Project Robin is a way to show Windows Defender Application Guard windows as tabs, next to other regular tabs. because right now, when you open a new WDAG window, it has its own protected window, backed up by Windows Defender engine. this Project Robin might be a way to bring the 2 environments together in the same window. so far the feature doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet. when I try it, it takes me to https://dev.browse.trafficmanager.net/?header=0&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2F&escape=newdomain&titlePrefix=0 and then nothing. it's exciting, waiting for future versions to see more changes.29KViews0likes4CommentsLive captions available in Microsoft Edge Picture-in-Picture mode
I tried it on this video that has captions available on YouTube and is in English, but it didn't work, so I'm not sure how and where it will appear, maybe not fully implemented in this build yet and will become usable in the future build. I'm also not sure whether this means Edge will just take the caption from a video like in YouTube and show it over the PiP, Or, it actually translates the voice of the video into captions and shows it to user which would be totally awesome (using speech to text capabilities). This is on Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.836.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) you need to enable these flags to get Global Media controls and PiP in them edge://flags/#global-media-controls edge://flags/#global-media-controls-picture-in-picture also if you don't have Live Captions feature, it's probably due to CFR28KViews2likes7CommentsWhat's new in Edge insider Canary Version 79.0.284
