Hello all, Does anyone have any information on when Private Channels will get Planners? Teams is a collaborative tool, but you can't assign tasks to people in private channels due to the lack of planners. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Solved412KViews29likes51CommentsDefault audio devices in teams
Hi All, I use a Lenovo X1 carbon 6th Generation laptop along with a Thunderbolt Docking station. (Windows 10 operating system) I use a usb headset for teams/ meetings and calls. When I unplug my headset, Teams defaults to my docking station. When I plug it back in, my docking station remains as default without automatically placing my headset back as default. (My headset is defaulted for all sound devices) My headset will appear in device options in Teams and I have to re-select it there in order to use it in -teams again. I've found that even after unplugging my docking station and only having my PC speakers and internal microphone as options, Teams will not automatically default back to my headset. It will remain defaulted to my PC speakers and internal microphone. Teams only defaults back if every other sound option is disabled from the sound control panel. However, other meeting software like Zoom and Cisco Webex automatically default to my headset (or whatever new sound device is plugged in) each time without me having to disable other sound devices or re-select it from the Zoom/Webex devices menu. I and many other users at my company have noticed this behavior. Does anyone have any hints or clues to help us out? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!68KViews14likes17CommentsMaking Planner Filters and Groups 'sticky' in Teams
Is there currently a means for users (ideally Team Owners) to make a certain Filter and Grouping of the Planner tab within a Team>Channel sticky? Currently the tab resets to the default view when switching between tabs. Our workflow has us: setup a Planner Tab for each Team The General channel is used as the Hub for the whole Team When a new channel is added, the Channel gets its own Bucket in Planner. In this way we can easily monitor activity and progress across all Channels within a Team from the General channel. New Tasks are assigned a Bucket according to the Channel in which they apply. In this way, it would be ideal for the Planner Tab to somehow recognize the Channel and make Filter and Group settings 'sticky' from the last session in order to minimize the constant resetting.10KViews10likes6CommentsThank you, Community! We've reached 200K Members!
Thank you - all 200k of you - for being a part of the Microsoft Teams space here in the Microsoft Technical Community. The world has changed quite a bit over the last year and Teams has played a significant part in allowing us to stay connected both personally and professionally. Many people experienced virtual meetings for the first time this year and many conducted their business 100% online for the first time, ever. The pace in which the world went virtual was quick and change management processes were challenged for many. Those of you in this space challenged our engineering team to shift gears to accomplish what was important to you in these changing times, you kept your own organizations up to date and kept things running, but most importantly - you supported one another, you leaned on one another, and you reached out when you needed community most. It's been an exciting 3+ years watching this community grow but I can honestly say that seeing a 600% increase in activity these past few months and the rate at which you came together to join the Teams engineering team to help one another was incredible. Thank you for being here. Thank you for providing input and sharing stories and explaining your scenarios so we can create a product that enables you to do your best collaboration. Thank you for contributing to the Microsoft Teams community. On behalf of Microsoft Teams Engineering, Cheers to all 200k of you! Here's to a safe, healthy, productive 2021. #CommunityRocks Laurie Pottmeyer, Microsoft Teams Community Lead Therese Solimeno, Microsoft Teams Community Manager2.2KViews10likes2CommentsSet your own Nickname on Teams
When I tag someone using @, Teams copy the person name in the post, right? But I know many people that don't like their name or their name is too long or super difficult to rear/pronounce or they like nicknames, like me 🙂 Then my idea why not let people set their nickname on Teams? then, when someone tags myself, for instance, it will not appear "Hey Francisco Mello" but "Hey Chico" 🙂 I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WILL BOOST PEOPLE COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION!Solved56KViews10likes4CommentsApps not available in Private Channels
I have been in love with Microsoft teams and have enjoyed using it for my company. However I have been quite disappointed by the fact that I’m not allowed to have apps like Calendar or Tasks in private channels. It is super important for myself (I would also assume for others who also have a business) to have private channels separate from the main Team. The reason being, I orchestrate certain tasks only to the people in the office and only want them to be able to see and not the others which are not. On top of that, I would like to assign tasks to the people in the private chat and not allow the others to be able to see them. I hope this is possible and I’d like to thank the Microsoft team for their revolutionary product that’s helped us be more organized. Thank you!Solved43KViews9likes14CommentsPersonal Pronouns in Teams
I'm looking for suggestions or roadmap information about adding personal pronouns within Microsoft profile, specifically for viewing in Teams. I'm not seeing a good way to do it currently and have had a number of asks related to this topic recently. Any guidance is appreciated!35KViews8likes9CommentsUsing OneNote Dark mode in Teams
Hi All I am using Dark mode throughout the Microsoft app universe. This includes Teams. All is good except when I open OneNote. It seems that even though I have Dark mode turned on in OneNote, when I open it in Teams it opens in Light mode. I realize I can 'Open in app' from the menu bar to work in Dark mode, but it would be nice to stay within the Teams shell to work in Class or Staff Notebooks. Is there a work around for this? Is this something Microsoft is working on? Thanks for your insights Che17KViews8likes17CommentsCurated community content in the Microsoft Virtual Hub
