Best Practice for Student Accounts
Hello, I am trying to find information on best practices for student accounts for underage students. My organization is in Higher Education and uses Teams for staff, faculty, as well as students over eighteen. In addition, we run some outreach programs for students that are not enrolled at the school, who are considered minors. We would like to use Teams to allow our staff to coordinate program activities with these students, but at the same time prevent the students from interacting with "regular" students (over eighteen) as well as staff, faculty, etc. Is there a standard profile to setup for these types of accounts? Any help getting this properly setup would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Help me get FLIP to work.
Here's my specific question (I think): How can I use Teams for Education if I already use my school email for Teams for Business? My end goal is to be able to use the FLIP app available in Teams for Education. I intend to use FLIP as a video discussion platform for my university classes (FLIP is formerly Flipgrid, a 3rd-party tool from 2012, and acquired by Microsoft in 2018). FLIP is no longer supported by Microsoft as a 3rd-party tool. But, FLIP isn't available for Teams for Business. As part of the tool acquisition deal, Microsoft only agreed to provide it for free for educational purposes. Therefore, the FLIP app was removed from the Teams for Business product on July 1st, 2024. So far as I understand, FLIP is only being integrated into the Teams for Education product. I tried downloading Teams for Education, but when I install it, Teams for Business opens. I can't open Teams for Education. Here are my questions: 1. Sales: Can I download and use Teams for Education independently from Teams for Business? Does Teams for Education require purchasing a separate license? Would I need a separate email (apart from the email I use for Teams for Business)? 2. Teams for Business Engineers: Is there a chance similar functionality to the FLIP app will be integrated into Teams for Business? If so, when might I expect that? Microsoft Teams Classes Disappeared out of Archived
Hi, I usually have a look through my archived teams classes and i usually see one in particular there, A year 6 one, as well as year 7 classes, It is not there. As if archived teams have been permanently deleted anyone know how i can get these back?
Teams for Education - Classwork
Good morning! I'm having a lot of issues with the Classwork option in Teams. I have teams with different classes and channels within each team, all of them with class work published within the general team... But some students can't ever get to class work, can't add it as a tab... Don't know how to get them there! Is there a bug related to this?
Org-Wide Team in Tenant with A5 Licenses?
Hi all, we have a tenant with A5 licenses. I configured my global admin to use one of them and made sure Teams is active as app. However i am unable to create an org-wide team, the option just doesnt show up. Hey all, I'm the Director of Digital Learning for an international school and love what I see so far about using Teams as an LMS. We use about 7 languages at our school but I can't find any definitive answers on translating the name of a class in Teams. What I would like to accomplish: - Translate the name of the Class and Channel Names so when someone logs into teams, they see these in their native language. Our classes are sometimes in up to 3 languages, but more often 2. Is this possible?Teams Insights not accurately displaying attendance?
I, like many am using Teams for live learning and need to pull off registers to complete on another system. When using insights within Teams to tick off registers, the data doesn't appear to always be accurate about who attends the meeting? Is there a reason for this? I know that one student who definitely attended is not showing as attending when I track student activity? I would use the registers function but it is frustrating as students appear multiple times as they enter and leave and they aren't sorted alphabetically by surname!Breakout room meeting options similar to main meeting options?
I often work with break-out rooms. If a student falls out because of Wi-Fi problems or something else (which happens every lesson), I have to go to that room to get them out of the lobby. I thought this could be resolved by turning on the lobby skipping meeting options, but so far it's not working the way I want. How can I solve this problem?
