microsoft 365 defender
100 TopicsCompliance licenses at tenant level
Hi, We are a small organization of about 200 employees, and we have following requirements. DLP policies configuration at Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint BYOD security Users should not be able to send files outside the org And so on as we evaluate We already have M365 Business Premium. However, after researching we figured out that M365 Business premium will alone not solve our requirements. May be compliance license will. We want to apply security policies at tenant level in our organization but definitely do not want every user to get licenses as this will be expensive for us and there is no requirement at all for our users. The question is, Is there a way to solve the above scenario?51Views0likes2CommentsAssigning Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (DFE) Licenses to Devices Without a Cloud-Visible User
We have a number of Windows 10 and Windows 7 clients that are used to control production systems. These devices do not have a cloud-visible user, as they are not associated with an Entra ID (Azure AD) account. However, each device does have a local Windows user for system operations. The challenge we are facing is how to assign Defender for Endpoint (DFE) licenses to these devices, since DFE licensing is primarily user-based, and there is no direct device-based licensing for client OS. Our main questions: How can we assign a newly purchased DFE device license to a client that has no user? Is there a way to assign licenses to local Windows users even if they are not synced to Entra ID?29Views0likes0CommentsSecurity Admin Center Tenant Allow/Block List Not Able to Block IPv4?
While using the Security Admin Center Tenant Allow/Block List we have been able to block specific email addresses and IPv6 IP addresses but are unable to block IPv4 IP addresses. We have tried both using the console and the CLI but have turned up unsuccessful both times when it comes to IPv4. A large majority of the phishing attempts that we encounter come from IPv4 addresses but we have been unable to block any of these. Will there ever be functionality for IPv4 within the Tenant Allow/Block list or is the only option to use conditional access policies? Also why is this enterprise tool only functional with IPv6 and without documentation stating that it does not work for IPv4?382Views2likes2Comments365 developer program reaction
Hi All, all we know in 365 we have developer program. It's really use full. But unfortunately last year due to family I not use it regularly. So the trail period not extended got expired. I am trying to re active the account. In the dashboard we gave delete profiles. Once we click it's saw after 24 hour you can join and get 60 days trail again. But if I came after 24 hour it's going to the registration process. Once it's done it's reducing to the old dashboard page whenever I have the expired profile. Please help me with re activate my account. Thanks Kannan N34Views0likes0CommentsEmail alert when roles are adjusted
Hi all, I've had a look around but can't find anything up to date that would help my issue. What we're after is an email alert whenever a 365 role is changed (user added or removed). Looking in Defender, there's only an alert for an Exchange Administrator change. Is there anyone who has something in production that would do this job? Kind regards Tom92Views0likes4CommentsChange language of Notification Mails for User submitted E-Mails

Hello All, Since few months I am able to see " No Data Available " status in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) console under security.microsoft.com-> reports-> device health -> Microsoft defender antivirus health. Please see below screenshot. I have tried to troubleshoot with Microsoft support however as of now there is no any resolution since lot of months. Affected devices in no data available are combination of Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux, Win server 2019, 2016, 2012R2 as well as 2008R2. There has been a long-standing compatibility issue between Outlook and Google. After every update, Outlook users face various problems, particularly with Google-based email servers. This situation significantly frustrates users and negatively impacts their productivity. Many businesses rely on Google's infrastructure while choosing Outlook as their email client. However, this lack of compatibility between the two platforms creates challenges for both individual users and organizations. It's high time these tech giants resolved this issue. Users who depend on Google-based email servers and have invested in Outlook are left deeply disappointed by these recurring problems.73Views0likes0CommentsMDE Platform stuck in Version 4.18.24080.9
We currently have Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for our Windows 11 Devices. Upon checking the devices in security portal most of them have "NOT UP TO DATE" PLATFORM. We tried the following to update the MDE on the clients: Get-WindowsUpdate -Install -KBArticleID KB4052623 -> Restart Update-MpSignature -> Restart Manual update by going to Virus & Threat Protection Settings -> Restart But we only see update on Security Intelligence. For MDE Platform it is stuck on Version 4.18.24080.9. What are we missing?47Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Defender multi Tenant managment
I work for an MSP that is going to switch out our current our current Antivirus Platform (Carbon Black) for another product. We are thinking about using MS defender as a reseller...either as an independent product or also going full O365 and migrating our clients from on Premise Exchange to 365 Exchange. However, I can't find anyone who manages MS defender (or Exchange for that matter) as a multi-tenant client. Each of our customers I understand would have their own instance and tenant ID, but I don't see any MSP managing these clients through a single interface. I have heard of Lighthouse and read about the API integration for MS defender, but I have yet to come across any companies using it in this fashion. Has anyone heard of managing a large client base for MS defender (or any MS cloud product) through successfully through Lighthouse or any other means?72Views0likes1Comment
