I work at a rather large organization and we just switched to using Microsoft Teams. So far it has been great but what is driving me nuts is the Notification for new messages. I can't find it anywhere to turn this annoying sound off. When you have several coworkers all messaging you, I can't even wear headphones anymore it's gotten so bad. And you can't even turn it off? My options are, "Call, Mention, and Chat" , "All", "Off" How is these not separated? I would like it to be able to ring for calls but I don't need a BEEP every time someone messages me since I already get a banner and a flashing name. Please let me know if I am missing a setting somewhere.Solved232KViews38likes42CommentsSpell check broken in new Teams 2.0 client
Greetings, we have about 100 users running Teams 2.0 and a handful of users, myself included, are seeing issues with the spell check. It will work for maybe 10 minutes, maybe a hour, maybe a day or two, but eventually will stop working. It will no longer flag misspelled words. The only fix is to reset the app/cache. Rebooting, uninstalling does fix it.. Just a cache reset. Once we do that, it starts working again, for 10 minutes, maybe an hour, who knows. But it will always fail again. Has anybody else seen this?97KViews37likes51CommentsMS Teams Select Background outside of conference call
Is there a way in MS Teams to change or 'try on' different backgrounds before or without starting a new meeting? I have been able to upload backgrounds and test them during conference calls, but have not been able to view them outside of meetings.Solved1.1MViews12likes39CommentsBreakout Rooms multiple organizers or co-hosts
I would like to switch from using Zoom to Microsoft Teams but, unfortunately, the way it is currently set up makes it so that I can't. We often have large meetings with 10+ breakout rooms (sometimes up to 30) and hosts need to jump between rooms to ensure everything is going alright and everyone is staying on track. This can't happen in Teams, as it doesn't allow co-hosts at all, so only the meeting organizers can move between rooms. Is there any way to set other hosts to be able to co-host with you? Preferably people that do not have to belong to your organization, as often the co-hosts might not be on the same account as I am.Solved102KViews11likes20CommentsTeamsFest! Registration is now open!
So it begins! The registration for TeamsFest is open and we are now on the countdown to the event on Wednesday October 7th. All speakers have confirmed. We have our moderators. We have our schedule If you haven't already heard, or attended a TeamsFest event, TeamsFest is a 100% free, 100% community driven conference dedicated to Microsoft Teams. It aims to bring together exceptional technical talent and thought leaders to democratise Teams knowledge, encourage participation in the Teams community and give those who are struggling financially an opportunity to attend a first class Teams conference But it's also a labour of love since I get to organise it with my friends. I have gotten to know Adam, Vesku and Chris over the last few years. We talk everyday - about Microsoft, about work, about life and about being fathers. It has only been possible to achieve what we have done together. Some time ago, I wrote a guest blog on why I love the Microsoft Tech Community and this still holds true today two years after I started participating. I strongly believe that our greatest opportunities and possibilities are realised through our relationships with others This is what is at the heart of TeamsFest and our fellowship We invite you to come and actively participate in a day full of learning about Microsoft Teams from the best line up of speakers and subject matter experts in the world. How to deploy it, how to drive it's adoption. Come and learn how to make Microsoft Teams into a full phone system for your users, how to extend Teams with pro-developed apps or the Power Platform to tailor Teams and bring all your tools together. Come and learn how you can secure Teams and leverage its new functionalities to support Firstline Workers Considering the amount of innovation we have seen in Teams over the past year, I also want to take the opportunity to outline how we are innovating to make TeamsFest even better given feedback from our last event We have extended the session tracks to 8, introducing two new tracks in Deployment & Firstline and one dedicated to the Power Platform The number of sessions has risen to 85, up from 50 last time around We have introduced registration so you can receive a booking for the event with join links in your calendar immediately. We will still do direct join links on the home page however we appreciate you need to have this booked in as early as possible For the speakers, we have introduced Sessionize making the process easier and because of this, we have the event hub which can be used to plan your day and browse sessions either on your desktop, the web, or your mobile We now have dedicated moderators on each track who will be managing the sessions and ensuring the best experience for speakers and attendees I want to also highlight that with TeamsFest, we are always looking to make it as inclusive and diverse as possible. We have more sessions by women than ever before, with around 25% of sessions and 3 of the 4 closing sessions by female speakers. We are also delighted that this is our first event with speakers from India and Pakistan. We aim to increase this even further next time around and we would welcome speaker submissions from Africa Finally, TeamsFest is all about high impact sessions, insights, sessions on new features or features which really show the Power of Teams which aren't often thought about. You'll find sessions on how to deploy Teams in VDI, on how Teams works with Project Cortex, on how it integrates with Dynamics 365. You'll find sessions on NDI, the new Tasks App, Bookings and Shifts. You'll find sessions on how to secure Teams with BYOD, or how to surface bots from either the Bot Framework composer in Azure or Power Virtual Agents. We have session's on STEM, on Project Oakdale and on those real fundamentals such as SharePoint, OneDrive and Powershell. Every session has been picked because it met one or more of these conditions. It was also important to us that everyone who attends doesn't have the same conference. With so many sessions on offer, we wanted to keep things fresh so everyone who attends can have a unique experience. There will be some agonising decisions when building a schedule - but rest assured all sessions will be posted on our YouTube channel a few weeks after the event I want to thank you personally for taking the time to read this blog. I hope you have the best day. Hi All, Just had the functionality to add a Calendar as a Tab to a Microsoft Team. We were hoping to use this to track days off (as all day 'free time' events with no attendees), and to schedule meetings that the Department can track, but doesn't necessarily require everyone to be invited. However, every time we add an event, it automatically sends an invite to everyone in the team, and posts the content in the Posts section of the team. We looked at the Required Attendees, and no one was listed. Under the Scheduling Assistant, the only person listed under the Required Attendees is the user creating the invite. There is no one else in the team added. However, all teams members get an invite in their Outlook. Is there a way to: 1. Schedule items into the Calendar where invites are not sent out? 2. Ways to limit the users that do get invites if we want to have smaller meetings? 3. Stop it from posting everything to the Posts chat? (similar to adding a tab where you can deselect the "post to this channel about the tab") Thanks.Solved106KViews8likes7Commentsteams and bulk adding of members
When I set up a new team or a channel under a team, I noticed that I have to add each name one at a time. It's really tedious, and it seems like an easy add just to cut and paste a bunch of emails from a spreadsheet into this (you can do this in outlook to send to a large distro). Why are bulk adds in teams so difficult?Solved427KViews7likes28CommentsMicrosoft Teams won't send dial pad inputs when navigating a phone tree during a conference call
Our users sometimes need to dial to an external number from the Teams app on their phone, add another external number to the call, then use the dial pad to navigate a phone tree. However, the Teams conference won't send the dialpad inputs to the phone tree system. Is there a way we can make this work?Solved70KViews6likes33CommentsTeams Mobile App only showing Calls
Hi everyone, I thought I'd start this discussion by mentioning we've encountered a bug within the Teams Mobile App whereby Android devices, don't allow you to access anything in the Teams Mobile App other than 'Calls'. You will receive notifications for Teams and Messages, and when selecting them will take you to the correct content. However, if you were to open the Teams Mobile App to send a message, you will see no such option other than the below. Appears to be effecting the following release, others may be affected too. I wanted to post this as I couldn't find anything similar on the community. Additionally, we have logged a case with Microsoft, of which the agent confirmed; "I have received multiple cases regarding the same issue. I have informed it to our backend team." Will keep you posted.14KViews5likes33Comments
